That makes sense for Heavy cover and Light cover, where were too busy being angry to take cover, but it doesn't make trees any less solid?

"WHY HAVE FAITH IN A TREE TO PROTECT YOU NEOPHYTE?! THE FAITH IN THE EMPEROR IS THE ONLY COVER WE NEED! NOW GET THE HELL OUT FROM BEHIND THAT SHRUB AND FACE THAT THERMAL CANNON LIKE A TEMPLAR!"

I can't imagine trees blocking much of the terrifying weaponry of 40k, so I'm imaging rather they're just obscuring your precise location, meaning the enemy is kind of pot-shotting at you with a vague sense of where you are...

...unless you're a Templar, waving banners and marching forward bellowing loudly, refusing to duck or scamper, daring the enemy to try and strike you down when the Emperor himself protects you! They probably have a better chance of hitting us through the trees than against any other enemy

Interesting to note he likes the concept of the Judicar with Oathkeeper.

is it worth it to buy an impulsor by itself? or should I buy one of the many combat patrols instead? not that I have bladeguard or sword brothers atm, but I think it would be fun to have some time

The retail version don't include a multi-melta.

my problem with it is that I have not fully built towards primaris yet, and it doesn't have the stuff I would really need to make it work, like bladeguard or sword brothers, and I am not yet really built for an even larger crusader squad yet with support besides an apothecary

Valid. The boxes are only a value if you're buying stuff anyway. I need everything but the Marshall so it makes sense for me.

Well, I got the shiny new Helbrecht today. Gunna paint him up over the next week or so.

I've also treated myself to a Primaris Techmarine, with the intention of making him MotF with Rites of War trait and Crusader Helm relic. He'll be running with my Helbrecht/Bladeguard/ChiefApoth/2*PlasmaRedemptor. With the Helm, he can give 6inch Obsec to Core (Bladeguard and Redemptors) as well as heal 3W a turn on either Dread from that 6inch disatance away. Helbrect gives the re-rolls of 1's to the overcharged Plasma, and full re-rolls to the Bladeguard when they get into combat. Bladeguard Sgt has Champion of the Feast and Icon of Heinmann.

Is it worth it to get two patrol boxes?  I don't have any clue how useful two impulsors would be.

I think its a fine box if you want to build an army around Crusader squads and Primaris Elite like Sword Brethren and/or Bladeguard or even Aggressors. The only thing thats kind of extra are the Intercessors but you can kitbash  those into other units.

Got tabled by death guard in a 1k game. So much I need to catch up on for IRL gaming (did you guys know objectives are just three inches wide?! Cause I bloody didn’t! ) and tactical changes. Turns out a venerable dread is rather squishy when facing down two plague crawlers, and I one should charge heroes first if you want to keep them together with their body guard.

My captain and chaplain both failed their charge, and I had to devout push my apothecary to keep up with my company vets. I need to work with positioning, especially if I take a huge vanguard vet squad out of a land raider (for casual.)

on the plus side, I made a death guard player balk at how durable my characters were with divine protection and invulnerable saves, and the champion of the feast with belthar’s fist managed to smack down a lord of contagion almost solo. Also… deathshroud terminators are no joke!

I think DG are a tough matchup since they are an in your face faction and get many bonuses.

In low points games like 1000pts, you must have enough units to do heavy lifting works. 300 pts characters buffing 400pts soldiers = defeat.

yea that is fair, and I am starting to see that now. To be fair though, the command squad is only 100 points, and the characters were supposed to make it into combat.

too much old edition still in my mind. I am probably going to drop the apothecary when I am not running a major foot slogging list...

How does this look for a 1k list? Just magnetized my captain to have a relic blade and storm shield, and was thinking of taking this for a spin (and have a reason to finish my redemptor)

Apothecary with crusader helm is good to spread 6+++ around to infantry. However, grimaldus can do the same thing and comes with several other perks.

True, however the apothecary is key to resurrecting/healing your relic holders, that just tanked a lot of damage.
