Unfortunately, the death defying headbutt will have to wait - I've got Svelk/Beren on board, and I won't risk his character, nor would Orphiel.  Delaying until his turn isn't an option, so it's going to be getting us into cover, and as far away from the other lads as possible now that my lad knows how much punch is on offer.

Even with the shield up at full strength taking 7 hits from an assault cannon didn't seem like a good idea. Now someone who still has their reaction just needs to distract the other Vorax...

NB. Just so everyone knows, the Vorax are Enormous (+20 to Hit). (But SAB is a Full Action, so you can't combine with an Aim in the same Round, so 3 hits was correct for Vesalius)

Ok, Draak has called for Bolter Assault. Odysseus has dropped to Solo Mode and as I understand it, characters who are mounted can't join Squad Mode with those who aren't (FF, pg.49) so Orphiel and Svelk are out too?

@Beren: You're probably not as familiar with using FABs, but you get 1 Hit for the initial Hit plus 1 for each DoS?

 

The Vorax is Enormous +20, not +30, so your target number was 33, meaning your roll of 13 resulted in the initial Hit +2 extra Hits for 2DoS.

 

So you get 3 Hits total.

 

 

 

Then for each of those Hits you need to roll Damage. We'll use the Errata1.1 stats for a Heavy Bolter, which is 1d10+12 Pen5 Tearing.
