We have a Crusadersquad which gonna be very different to other troop choices in comparison to other Marines and 3!!! Primaris Special characters - More then Ultramarines Marneus Calgar Tigerius Uriel Ventris Roboute Guilliman R.G is not Primaris. Uriel Ventris is (at least for me) just an additional model for a captian. Imo he is just made for collectors and doesnt seem to have a special role in the ruleset. Thats why he is not in the UM Supplement so far ( not released in the time when UM supp was released). He is like Castellan Draco never used to be a real character in any codex. so there are just two charaters primarised. But of course the UM will ever stay the main Marine chapter before BT, DA, SW, BA and so on although we will stay in a good spot right now and next time I think. Even if the Meta is against Marines right now... next Marine Dex is waiting and so we maybe are even in a better spot in next year especially we are not the slightly unpopular chapter next door in the same book. Banjulhu Posted September 27, 2021 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Other than the backpack there is nothing that really that signifies him as a Primaris marine other than being far better scaled than old marine models Well, high-ranking Astartes will of course have more custom-made artificer stuff than a line Primaris marine, so it's indeed not necessarily MkX at all. Fluff-wise it's entirely possible that artificers just reworked his old armor to account for the added bulk (I do believe Primaris being bigger than firstborn is still a thing in the fluff, even with all the retconning they've done?). Marines do like their relics, after all. With the sisters getting redone and redefining the scale of the average human in setting and both Deathguard and Thousand Sons being pretty much the same height as a primaris I suspect the idea is now that they have a few inches over the average firstborn rather than a foot. Lets face it the only thing that has really changed in model size in the last 5 years or so is that GW finally figured out how long legs are meant to be in proportion to the rest of the torso. Ventris has a unique load out tbf. You can’t make a regular captain with the same. He’s definitely a primaris special character with special rules. Totally agree on guilliman Either way, you guys all have three updated characters now! Good times! I have to say, Templar’s have been treated very well, which makes sense, they have a large and loud fanbase and even people like me suggested templars should get a proper supplement in the questionnaire a few years ago. I doubt other chapters will see anything similar in the foreseeable future honestly, which kinda sucks for other chapters (particularly the other two sons of dorn who are struggling a lot). I am unsure I agree with sete on the power swords being proper ones though! Also the current axe in the codex for the primaris space wolf lieutenant is Master crafted, so the axe option is currently S+2 ap-2 and D2. If that's the same as the Marshal's it'll be great for Toughness 3 and 5. I'm torn between the Sword and axe options. Swords are always cool but so are axes. Honestly, both the generic marshal and Grimmy could have had even just a simple cross on the pistols. I mean they got the chain, that gives it some unique flair. Faith is its own reward! We're going to end up with more unique stuff than any other chapter! For a while anyway. I don't expect it to last too very long. But its all good. We have been neglected for very long, and now its the opposite. And maybe GW might even revisit us again, if these release does well.
