The second head is definitly better - the first one really emphasized how much smaller the old Bile model is than the new space marines.

 

Personally, the huge axe is such an iconic part of the Master of Executions that without it he doesn't really look the part - to me, he looks s more like a warpsmith.

i get that too. unfortunately i currently have nothing more fiting so this is my measure til i get somthing better. i was intending this to be an iron warriors medic if we ever got the option. likely wont see table top but is a filler if i need it.

so my first game of boarding actions and i quite liked it but definately was not brave enough and left it too late to go for true score. 4 way game. me iron warriors, then votan thousand sons and grey knights. the thousand sons player is our current champion. so i was very wary. my nids lost to him before... tabled for no real loss to him. anyway...

 

so game  had 6 objectives. 1 per deployment an d 2 centeral moveable ones. the main corridors erupted flames causing mortals. i took

legionare squad

chosen squad. 

 

t1 i advanced and took my objective and stickied it with the legionares. i definately played too cagey, too wary of those sons flamers and not aggressive enough with the votan. 

 

my chosen had a staring contest with a flamer sons squad before getting slightly singed then charging and killing all bar the sorceror who attempted to run but eventually got cut down. 

legionares had a similar game. after stickying my objective and wasting too much time they got in a shoot out then finished off  the other flamer squad. they even took the sons objective. 

 

the lord. killed most of the second flamer squad(all but one)  before taking a smite to the face. i should have command rerolled his save too. 

 

termys... i definately wasted them. they did kill a votan termy equiv squad and were set to take on their lord and take the end of game objective... mis timed. 

 

so that objective i didnt get.. was wort 15 points at end game. i got 30 overall. the guy who got it had 55 if i ad it id have drawn... sigh. still i came 3rd  and boarding actions was fun. next game is 2v2 boarding actions. and i am with the votan against the other 2 from our game. 

 

list thoughts... im only disapointed in my lord. so next game im gonna take my termy lord... likely do less but might take more to bring him down.... will see.

Still working on this guy. Steps forwatd though. I had managed to get a few spacemarine axes but they just didnt work. Then i remembered this big orc one... side seems right. Needs some wire etc but i think its good. Just the head still bothering me... very very tempted to try a few admech ones on it...

Either head could work. The left is more expressive and the tight is more Iron Warrior-sy.

I appriciate the feedback and have swapped the head. I do think it works better for an iron warrior vibe. Will update when i get some progress...

Think this is him done for now. Blood effect needs red ink added(i still have some gw stuff) just for the fresh blood effects. Will intend to freehand add more markings and heads etc as it progresses with games if i use it. Happy for now though

Always loved cypher and his mystery and this model. I did make a stand in but found an offer on one ....

I also found the new lord so doinked him too. Helm is too tusky and not a fan of the bare head. Havent found a spare i like yet but magnitised this in meantime...

Nice!  Good luck finding an improved head for the lord - maybe one of the ones from the chosen sprue?  Its got some good heads.

 

Not sure what the connection with that rabbit on the box in the first picture is, but at first I thought it might be your cypher stand in.

Cheers. Ill keep an eye out for those. I was more thinking a havoc head if i can get my hands on the right combat patrols mags.(trying to keep to a tight budget)

 

The box is what they were shipped in. I knew em by the box even though id not used this company before. Thought it funny

 

 

Not sure when painting will start. Sub zero temps meaning no undercoating this week by looks of it... just when im home and willing

Went sideways... have terrain that was waiting on paint. Batch paint done

 

Iv since taken markers to the van and added graffiti and a few spot colours but not going nuts as more wont work on the wood...

Got another run at attacking... coldwave still stopping undercoating so a few build works got attempted. Firstly repairs on an old rhino chassis... removing lots of trophies and such. Terrible build but quality top on it. Now can run as rhino... working on potential predator conversion...

Helm made... old metal i wanna say havoc helm with added crest off mechanicus kit... think it works well... and is magnitised. His bare head too. And a mag on the base for head storage.... base around and make it look severed right should work well...

So i recently did a mass basing session to bring a bunch up to a roughly matching standard. i specifically focused on my boarding action. after my normal lord got knocked down in the last game ive swapped in my termy lord for the next game. anyway a few pics...

 

iv my next game on saturday. itll be a 2 v 2 boarding action and this is my force for this game.

So i had my game and it went abasmally. Totally annialiated. Between greyknights termys and thousand sons termys and my ally doing nothing(he tried and failed) then betraying me. But iv got some excellent pics and had a great time.

 

Highlights....

 

Chosen squad charging stern and leaving him on 1 wound before counter attack and death to termys(therefore doing nothing)

 

Legionares shooting doing nothing all game. Just surviving a vharge by greyknights and the last one trying to get at my ally for betraying me only to die to overwatch by ex ally

 

Termy squad trying to save my ally from a thousand sons termy squad only to fail pact take mortals somewhat whiff their attacks then get charged by more grey knight termys

(Deepstriking behind door then actioning to open door then using a strat to move through door leaving to a 6 inch charge is very unexpected)

 

My lord my last man standing charing the grey knight termys that killed his collegues killed one(that then healed via narthessium). When he heard of the votan betrayal he pulled back hoping to leave the way for them to attack the votan but instead got charged by both grey knight termys squads and sadly lost to 40 odd attacks  but only just. He did tank a lot of damage til the end.

 

So now my iron warriors have grown... grown angry. Gotten hate. Further betrayal suffered. Xeno scum must pay. Grudge match has been issued. As the injured are escorted off the ship news of this betrayal has reached their leader. Reinforcements have been dispatched. Blood must be spilt!
