Is Brooks just sitting on a bunch of completed novels or is he writing as fast as Haley?

Either way I'm excited for both AL and Flesh Tearers.

Oh, and why do they even bother mentioning Coming Soon page, when it hasn't been updated in ages. Again...

When i saw the pointer to the Coming Soon page I thought “Yes!, finally updated” and rushed over there.  Major disappointment once again.

It just feels that they do this on purpose sometimes…

I'm interested in Shadowsun's book mainly because it seems likely to expand/deepen the knowledge on the T'au's mercenary/auxiliary xenos. Have we had any info about the Charpactin for instance? Don't remember hearing about them at all.

Agreed.  The blurb about the T’au mercenary xenos grabbed my attention as well and will force me to endure another dose of Kelly poisoning.  Many of the xenos allied to the T’au are way more interesting than the T’au themselves.

As for the Charpactin, they are a race of sentient fungoids and have been mentioned in the 8th edition codex but not delved into in any depth so far as far as I know.

Gene-seed matters and does weird things, and it's at the very least a curious decision to depart this far from the template, this prominently on the cover. We'll see if the book comments on it in some fashion.

Maybe he's a renegade from a different chapter that just joined AL? Thousand Sobs recruit sorcerers from other warbands. Maybe AL does too? I think that would be an interesting idea having an outsider try to assume total leadership of entire legion.

Alpha legion geneseed isnt one of the few that warps facial features, they do lookalikes with good old fashioned surgical alteration, something i suspect has long dropped out of fashion with plenty of warbands since the heresy anyway.

If Steven Conlin doesn't get Hamilcar....

Perfect voice actor for him, imho, but I digress.

Nice to see some older stuff getting treatments. Storm of Iron in particular!

Looks like it's gone to Matthew Hunt.

And Storm of Iron is narrated by Michael Geary.

The Vorbis Conspiracy is actually getting an audiobook!

It's also the only new thing dropping in two weeks. Nightbringer's 20th anniversary edition has got to be the 20th edition of the novel.

Maybe it is a double secret undercover move. Nobody expects the one guy who looks nothing like the rest of the Legion.

I thought we'd had a few who couldn't pass for Alpharius. At least that one chap from the FW books who tattooed the Hydra onto his face.

Void King by Mark Collins (A Rogue Traders Novel)

Quote

Marc Collins’ new novel focuses on three fabulously wealthy and powerful dynasties of Rogue Traders, the hereditary privateers who ply the depths of unknown space – and deadly but profitable killzones – with the God-Emperor’s ancient blessing.

Since the halcyon days of the Great Crusade, the proud Lamertine, fierce Helvintr, and cunning Radrexxus families have found great profit – and even greater adventures – thanks to their Warrants of Trade. Yet now the galaxy is changed, ripped in two by the birth of the Great Rift, and Roboute Guilliman himself demands that they find a way to cross the Cicatrix Maledictum.

It falls to Erastus, the Lamertine heir, to rise to the occasion. Can he unite disparate Imperial forces to complete this sacred mission? Or will betrayal and a thirst for vengeance threaten all their endeavours and keep the dark secrets threatening the Imperium’s dreams of unity hidden forever?

Coming Soon section is a joke again.

Void King could be interesting. I just hope that between this and the novels branded as Renegades and Flesh Tearers, we don't see any situations where the book is clearly setting up for a trilogy that winds up not happening due to lack of sales. It's not AS bad as when they can a trilogy after Book 2, but it still makes me hesitant to "try out new things" if I'm worried that we'll never see the big crescendo that the author had in mind.

Hopefully, that either won't be the case or it will be handled deftly enough that Book 1 can stand on its own. Kingmaker pulled that off quite well, I thought - the author clearly had a least a sequel in mind, if not a full trilogy, but the main plotline in the first book was tied up in a satisfactory manner.

To add on to the coming soon page update, Fnac has Rogal Dorn’s arriving on October 8th. Preorders should be up on the 1st. Looks like Void Kings and Harrowmaster will come later in the month.

The upcoming Eisenhorn omnibus appears to be a new version; the blurb states that it's four collected novels (presumably including The Magos). If that's the case, this must be one chonker of a book.

Shouldn't be too much of an issue. The Magos was larger than the original Omnibus of the trilogy (which was on the thinner side!) - because of paper quality and font size. Putting it into the usual Omnibus format, it'll probably clock in at about what the Gaunt's Ghosts omnibuses 2 and 3 are like, or Ciaphas Cain omnibus 3.

I just really hate that new cover (and that of Ravenor's omnibus as well). They're too cartooney, not fitting the gritty, serious and reflective tone of the novels. Clint Langley's original cover art it is not.

Nothing new going up for preorder next week. Just the Sabbathiel audiobook that for some reason they couldn't launch yesterday alongside the hardback & ebook.

"Oops we forgot."

But they did say at the end of the article that there will be new book (implied multiple) reveals. Coming Soon page is still utterly useless though

Yes, and I wonder what will be revealed, possibly the Sanguinius Primarch limited edition which should be out soon considering the regular hardback releases at the end of November.

They already revealed that in an article a few months ago.

Hmm ok. But still no release date, which is weird since the hardback and e-book are only 2 months away.

It seems odd, but I think they’ve cut down the exclusivity window for the rest of the Primarchs series (and maybe LEs in general?). Dorn’s coming out in hardback and ebook October 8th, less than two months after the LE. Helbrecht’s coming out in hardback and ebook in October, 3 months after the LE. That suggests BL’s cut the exclusivity window in half, either permanently or temporarily while they catch up on what seems to be a backlog of unreleased material.

Edit: on the other hand there’s no sign of the regular editions of Warboss, so BL is, as always, consistently inconsistent.
