New Year, new progress!

Continued with some basecoats on my Legio B&C Intercessor squad. Blacks have been highlighted with Incubi Darkness, bone has three coats of Morghast Bone and so far one coat of Mephiston red has been put down.

A terrible photo but it does mark some progress with the B&C Intercessors, finishing up on the Bladeguard and continuing with the bikes. Progress is progress. Intercessors are nearly ready for washes.

Edit: upon review, once I have finished all these off I will have approx. 770pts of the FoL. Enough for two variants of a 500pt force. My local FLGS runs occasional 500pt 40k game nights. Might I get a game in before the end of 10th ed?

Musings

I've read that the bikes' assembly is infamously bad. That's one of the main reasons I'm still not getting any. Your experience shows that this indeed is the case. Overall, great progress. It's nice to see more of your marines with that absolutely cool livery. As for Legio Intercessors, they're looking crisp, too. And I wholeheartedly approve the use of the Maltese cross on the knee pads.

Thank you! @Brother Christopher I had hoped to have some rook/castle decals as the kneepad decoration, a campaign badge for my FoL representing the liberation of a city.

I'd used the cross on a tilting shield for one of my previous models and liked the effect so now it is 'canon'.

As for the bikes, they were some of the first models I bought when I got back into the hobby. Now I know why they were cheap on eBay! I wouldn't recommend them and I'm not relishing building the remaining three plus Chaplain I have in my future.

I have attempted pushing my highlighting a stage further than normal.

I think I need to return to Mars for an upgrade to my ocular implants. The servos on the digits could do with replacing too, getting some backlash on the gearing.

Second photo

I think that you're a bit too hard on yourself. Martian interventions don't appear to be necessary ;) Remember, your flesh is not weak! The highlights are looking good, particularly the green. The black looks a bit worse, with some slightly blotchy patches on the collar and belt, but I'd assume that's the photo exaggerating things. And nothing you can't 'fix' - I find it easier to revisit and refine lines than trying to get them perfect the first time around.

Keep up the good work!
