Marshal Mittens
Built 10 Justerian with Tortuga Bay models, they look great but are MUCH bigger than normal Cataphractii. Thinking about buying 3 more packs (15) so I can have 2 squads of 12 and use the left over mini to kit bash Abbadon with his plastic mini and one of these bodies. If Forgeworld cast minis with this quality I would still buy their minis. On the bits, if you are not printing them yourself I highly suggest Archies Forge over Shapeways. Much cleaner prints. Weathering powders and good bits do feel like cheating, they make it easy to produce good looking minis! Also using some Tortuga Bay minis for some stuff and they look great, and are a good use for left over arms and such. Thanks, yeah I've ordered from shapeways before and I thought the quality was a bit rough for the price you pay for them... I came across Archie's Forge more recently and their prices are much better overall so I've been thinking to give them a go next time, glad to know their print quality is good! The weathering powders look great, it's definitely not cheating though, you're making great use of the tools at your disposal! The new guys look great, I'm particularly fond of the axe champion - looks like he's probably spent some time with the world eaters! And the terminators are off to a great start too, I never realised how huge the Tortuga bay justaerin are, wow! Marshal Mittens
Finally getting some brush work done after so much building! Here is early work on my Preator before the washes and such. I like the skulls on his little sash for some gold SoH skulls. Marshal Mittens
Finally finished up a group of marines. These are the two AoD box Preators, as well as a kit bashed Champoion, two guys kit bashed as MoS types, a Kitbashed Deamon-librarian guy, as well as 5 melta gun guys, 3 Vexilla guys, and some bolter guys so my veterans can run sgt/7bolter/2Melta loadouts with a Vexilla. Also some alternative Sgt models because why use magnets when you could just paint extra models. Marshal Mittens
Notes: Always odd how I take photos in the same light box with the same camera, and some of my minis appear way more vibrant than others, while pictures came out kinda dull. I should learn how to take pictures aometime.
