Assuming Luthais and/or Arcturion are nominated/volun-told to go batter down the door, do we need to make an attack roll vs the stationary object, or do we go straight to damage? And is there an advantage to charging the door (i.e. bonus damage on charge via Blood Angels chapter trapping)?

I think MR said to Lysimachus that you Had to roll To Hit, it isn't automatic.

Like you can hit it but not damage it

@Lysimachus The simple answer is (+0) as it's not a target, it's an object, but it's so large it's like a wall if that makes sense.  You can't fail to hit it, it's so big, but likewise you get no benefit, because it's so big. (Any failed attack roll will be the natural robustness of the door, the angle of the attack was off etc).

There is a way out...

If you want to use The Ladder...

MR's answer & remembered the Ladder.

Ladder is too small.  You could cut a hole to open it up, but it's going to be tougher to do than the door.

This is one of my "I don't want to say no, because you're thinking laterally, but it's not that great an alternative" type posts.

Somehow I suspect we would have to continue cutting down the entire length of the ladder assuming it's built into a narrow shaft (we're talking serious material removal), plus we would almost certainly have to contend with some hilarious fall damage depending upon where (if?) the ladder terminates.

Fall damage no, but we're talking deck thickness, down to the underdeck.  Excavation is the operative word, I suppose.

How about this one?

Arcturion sliced Hybrid#2 into two halves.

We take the two halves of the Hybrid to the door,

We put the two halves together to make a whole and then we climb through the hole.

If only one of us can go through the door per turn (after we attacked it) and there are five of us, and there are four turns till squish one of us mathematically is already dead?

Edit: what would I need to do in assiting to search for the braclet thingy.

Oops!

Copypasta error?

EDIT: No, it's ok - just need to put the door into Critical wounds (so anything from -1 to -10) to make a big enough hole for you go out two at a time.

Like Noah's Ark.

Correct, only one opening is required.

Anything more than that, and you boys are either showing off, making modern art, or going to funny Slanneshi clubs...

@Trokair A search action, Challenging (+0) Perception Test (due to the corpse's condition.  You don't need the map, you can handle that narratively ("I crouch by the body, search it etc") It will take your Full Action (turn). There are three bodies. You may search Hybrid 4, Hybrid 2, or Hybrid 3.

I will randomly determine which one has the bracelet, until by elimination or luck it is discovered.

Hybrid 4

A simple pass is required to determine if the body does, or does not have the bracelet.

Is everyone ok with that?

@A.T. not to pry, and purely for my understanding, how did you double the pen on your lightning claws from 8 to 16? Is this another Storm Warden talent, or maybe an assault marine talent that I have missed?

Hammer Blow - regular assault marine talent but Storm Wardens get it cheap. It adds half the characters Strength bonus to penetration during all out attacks.

Congratulations KT Regent, you have escaped the PULVERISER and the mission continues!

We shall take a breath there whilst I sort out the next juncture of the adventure/mission and would like and encourage any feedback you have about the game thus far.

Cheers!

Now that we are past the door I had a look, layers much?

I just picked 4 as it was the closest fully expecting to have to move on to the others, and also for the door to last longer. Not so much TPK potential as it first appeared.

The layers are to protect players who like to delve!

To be honest, the setup for the first encounter was really just a bit of a taster session for us all.  Never having run a game for higher level Deathwatchers, I wanted to give you guys a bit of pressure to get you thinking, deciding, rolling dice.  It was also good for me to see how the mechanics worked in function, not just on paper.

Success all round, I think
