The new models on the block, cool looking, but is they something we really need? Melee is not something we are really in need of. I like them, and I will gett them, just because I need them all, minus the bunny ears.

For the cost of Beserkers + Transport you can get Warp Talons who have a similar melee capability but are a lot easier to use.

Yeah, as obsec troops with legion trait in WE I can see their uses … but they seem outperformed in normal CSM forces.

 

seems like plague marines and rubrics offer things to generic CSM.   Berzerkers and noise marines are options that shine in their home legions.

I like the new Berzerkers, but I can't justify taking them in anything but a fun casual list. CSM has too many similar units that edge them out.

 

Compare them to Chosen. For 3pts more, Chosen get an extra wound, a Legion Trait and a free bolter. The extra wound is the biggest one really, given how many D2 weapons are in the meta. Blood Surge is a nice ability, but it isn't enough to make up for that tradeoff.
