airbrush thinner with the aircon on meant very very quick drying times

Last Minute addition to swap out for the Sone Mortalis games on Sunday.

i can’t wait to actually spend some time working on the interior of the capes of all the units and adding Power sword effects to all the terranic great swords.

Next week I’ll begin the start of the Decal Process and hope to god it doesn’t take a hundred years :turned:

Today was the final day of the Campaign; I’ll try compress some images and give a Summary; I have a lot of images to edit and go through the notes.

but all in all was a great day with some pretty awesome humans!

Smoke and dust clouds drift through the ruined outskirts of the city, as countless space marines lay where they fell. The city walls are in ruins, and the gate collapsed. But the traitors have been bloodied! The last minute arrival of a Dark Angels relief force on the flank managed to plug a damaged section of wall and chase down the first World Eaters to breach the city walls. Meanwhile, on the far flank loyalist forces sallied out of the defences and silenced the traitor artillery, too late as it creates a second gap in the wall.

Just as it looks like the city will hold, a war horn blares, as the Warhound Victoris Rex marches towards the city gates, blasts from its turbo laser toppling the gatehouse spire. The second shot scores a direct hit on the loyalist Stormhammer the Iron Duke, which was attempting to block the gates using the own bulk to reinforce the defences. As the turbo laser penetrates the Iron Dukes reactor, the tank explodes in a catastrophic blast, collapsing the gatehouse and completing the destruction of the walls of Jagel Prime.

With the walls reduced to a pile of rubble, the city is left wide open. But the assault has bled the traitors hard. Only time will tell if the traitors have the numbers left the press their advantage, or if the destruction of the cities defences is little more than a pyrrhic victory…

The Outcome from Day 2 of the Campaign had the Loyalists falling back after the Valiant Charge of the Dark Angels failed to stop the advance.

After carving through A squad of Tacticals my Praetor and Deathwing companions were counter charged by The Nightlords deathstar; Praetor Herald Chaplain and command squad deep striking and hammer of Wrath reducing my companions down to two models, yet after being locked in combat and some amazing dice rolls on my part finishing them all and destroying the VIIIth Legion Contemptor.

Achieving a phyrric victory in the least.

But between the loss of our super Heavy assets defending the wall and fresh deployments of an Alpha Legion Falchion and the Warhound the gate collapsed and the far end of the wall was breached.

the Malitia on the wall held for as long as they could but alas the traitors advanced.

all in all was an amazing day of Laughs and dice and hopefully can get some more games in.

if anything it’s convinced me to continue with this project even if I don’t get to play much.

so coming into the holiday period I will recoup and recover before continuing with the project, allowing me some time to plan out some more pieces.

definitely need some more heavy hitting units for these bigger games and truly wish To bring on some more Super Heavy Assets (wink wink nudge nudge).

believe me it was, I’m hoping to get a few more games in over the Holiday period and have been invited to continue with this Heresy Group.

my final week away with work and after such a great event the motivation to start adding the final details is commencing.

Decals and Details people… it’s all in the decals and details.

I always find it awkward to post comments in threads like these that I happened to stumble upon online. Because 'stunning work' or 'an amazing army' or 'great models' seems to be very superficial and doesn't do justice to the amount of work and visible dedication. You have an amazing project and I'll make sure to visit this thread. And needles to say, the photos from the game are quite epic in scale!

thanks man, look I completely agree with the sentiment. Trying to connect with people in the community is one of the harder things of this project, where once it was solely interacting with people on the B&C now there’s heaps of other platforms and it’s hard not just to lurk or leave a like.

in person I can ramble on for ages about the lore and history and passion and everything that goes into this but the reality is translating it to text is more exhausting.

But I ramble yet again, Ultimately as each stage of the project is reached I see even more that needs to be done.

And as a bit more of a treat some more photos from the event.

Those are some rather nice photos ... they really do make it look rather atmospheric.

Is it me, or does the Knight look like it's "looking in the box" with the building the the dislodged roof?

Yeah, it's the "curse of the like button" - whilst it makes it really easy to show basic support (like), it increases the relative interaction cost for fuller interaction (typing anything takes exponentially longer than a single click, especially on a mobile device).

So the Castigator Knight Lancer  was the first unit to breach the walls; and the funny bit of this story was upon breaching and seeing the bunker. Its Operator decided to attack the Bunker which happened to contain the Loyalist Campaign commanders HQ hidden as an objective.

before anything could happen the Dark Angels had just entered play and between 10 Lascannons and some Land Raider support alongside the Malitia rapiers we managed to blow it up.

this in turn caused it to blow a bigger hole in the wall which allowed the deep striking reserved World eaters Rampagers to come in and launch themselves into the bunker, with them pressing on our Campaign leader I disembarked the knights Cenobium and used my tanks to plug the wall.

only to fail the Charge of 5 inches by rolling snake eyes.

it really was a thematic game and was amazing to have as my first main foray back into the hobby.

Holy Crap do decals make a difference to everything; I am so happy we’re going the extra mile now I have the time.

still a lot to do but this is starting to feel more like an army that’s in universe then a rush job.

will be of course working on better photos as the lighting is way to warm in this motel room but here you go.

So after a few relaxing days I decided to make a start on my next Consul; The Herald.

the banner is currently just a place holder whilst I await my Mk3 plastic command kit, I also have a 4K game coming up on Monday so I’ll hopefully have some pics and a run through for each turn.

spent my day priming the Spartans and terminators and getting everything prepped for the eventual next batch of army painting.

I also have a Reaver Titan inbound and some Armigers for the Knight Household.

currently in negotiations with acquiring a nemesis warbringer titan and hoping that I can convince the wife to allow me to purchase a second reaver. That way I’ll have 5K of super heavies as a Titan legio (if she agrees I will not be purchasing any extra units for the rest of 2025, and I’ll have to paint everything in the collection in the meantime)

all in all it’s been a productive day and I’m looking forward to progressing more with this and getting my Instagram set up properly and finish all the final details on the army and have it display ready.
