Anyone have any good ideas for converting one of the ATVs? its honestly one of the derpiest models GW has put out since the advent of primaris.

Shameless plug but I may have a helpful offering. Still needs some kinks ironing out but I'm actually working on a printable alternative that's more of a tankette than go-kart. I just need to tweak the weapon connection points and sort a few geometry errors and it should be ready. Obviously I know not everyone has a 3D printer, but for those that do it's an option. Or will be once I finish it!

I'm happy with double Dorn.  Gotta fill the parking lot somehow.

I would not trade a full form for a single sentinel. But if they wanted to give us a squadron of them instead of one Dorm, then we have a conversation going.

I think those of us that are ‘veteran collectors’ of these armies need to accept that these boxes likely won’t fit into our specific exactly what I need to complete my collection desires.

Nope. They often fill a “a get  a thing or two i need and this  other junk at a great price” mindset though:)

They are more or less like "get a few things you need at a price your LGS would likely offer you, plus please take these things that nobody seems to want so that we can make some room in the warehouse" deals.

Actually its been said that these are printed again for the boxes so they aren't repacking anything.

I know the 2x Dorn is a bit hit and miss based on this thread, and not everyone follows the tourny meta but a loooot of recent guard armies in the top 3 seem to be running 2ish dorns, one person managed to squeeze in 3! . So for those more beer & pretzel gamers eyeing the box it may be more popular than initially expected.

I’m a veteran collector but my early days were very sparse in what I was able to collect, so my collection is still pretty intermediate, and I’ve gotta say the battle force still just seems awkward.

2 dorns seems like only people pushing armored companies would really want.

Not necessarily...the Dorn is one of the better anti-tank options and at least for me i try to fit in at least 2 anti-tank options in all my lists regardless of faction

As someone who doesn't collect Guard YET the 2 Dorns are the big selling point of the box. It's a fantastic looking tank and I'd love to have a pair of them.

Agreed. As a soon to be Guard player this box is perfect. I'll use both as my anti tank units.

It's not really anything to do with the meta.  The box concept is a good one, two tanks and some infantry is a great introduction to Guard.  Not all boxes need to appeal to both old and new collectors of a faction, however this one has the potential to appeal to both.   More tanks and grunts is usually appreciated in any guard army.

The issue is that the Dorn as a physical kit is the worst tank that GW has put out, certainly in recent years at least.  Yes rules wise it may have a place but what is the point when you are forcing people to have a bad hobby time.  That's the bit that annoys me, they are hampering what could be a good box by trying to make a bad kit popular.

Just curious what is wrong with the kit? I know it has no bottom plate but hadn’t heard anything else particularly bad about it. Anything specific I should know about before investing in this box?

After I bought a third party bottom for it, I really like it.  And I was one of those grouchy old guys fussing about the bottom.

Yeah having looked it over but not bought one the kit seems really good as you can leave off most of the stupid bits like sponsons or nipple guns, and the bottom is easily fixed with some card, or a custom part if you are feeling bougie :D :P

Worst tank they've put out is surely hyperbole?

Why so bad? I'm personally not keen on the profile but wouldn't award it worst.

Tyranids:

  • Norn Emissary                                  90€
  • Hive Tyrant                                       50€
  • Hormagaunts                               3x40€? see below
  • Genestealers                                1x42,5€? see below

Total: 302.5€ -> 40% discount

This is tempting - I'd like the Emissary, and maybe 1 set of new stealers and gaunts, however I don't need another tyrant or...30 gaunts. Great for a starter though!
