It's probably just because 'Eavy Metal only paint so many for the box art.

They don't even paint enough for a box sometimes. Latest example would be the Legions Imperialis reveals. Most of them only have a single painted model for each weapon option duplicated to the box contents

Again the prices are only assumed so the discount is close to 35% as that is the average we got last year. But that is just an average and there were boxes with higher and lower discounts so the actual prices this year will be different. This is just an estimate

Leagues of Votann has an Einhyr Champion as well, and the Ork one has a Painboss - I wonder if these will impact the pricing on those boxes.

Yeah I agree, If dorns were better I might be tempted, but there not so

And missed another model, Votann also got an Einhyr Champion in there. Posts should now be correct.

Votann seems like it would either be very expensive compared to the other ones or have a way higher discount.

Sorely, sorely tempted by the World Eaters one. I have already painted a Jugger Lord and some Terminators, so I gotta right?

 

But I am going big on AoS next month, and price depending I might just get Fulgrim as a gift to myself, to ease the pain of getting fired from the job I thought would last me into retirement.

Only ones really tempting me is the nid one and the sm one. Haven't got the cash for any mind...probably just as well as there's  always a fight for the boxes. I tried last year to get the sisters box to no avail.

I could be tempted by the Ork one depending on how close to the combined price of the Kill Rig and Squighog Boys it is. If I’m effectively getting the other kits for £20-£30, it’ll be hard to say no to.

 

Originally I thought I’d want the Marines one but the posing and reviews of the Jump Pack marines have put me off that kit. So on the fence with that one. 

 

These would eat into my Legions Imperialis budget though, so I might end up just skipping them.

So all the box sets for the armies I have seem good, would fill in the right gaps. World eaters, space marines, tyranids and squats, gonna have to choose which one to get. Usually there is some some superfluous models, not this time

 They've been doing that for a while. They don't usually paint more than one set of each unit for box art. So, when they need to show multiples of the same unit, they re-use the same models in the picture.  I imagine it's a lot quicker than getting the 'Evy metal team to paint random extra models now and again. 

 

 

Speaking of which, I don't own any of the models in the marine box, so I am really keen to pick it up.

Considering they print new sprues for these boxsets, instead of using what they have lying around, I wouldn't be too sure about that

Well, looks like I am buying five Tyranids box sets for next year's project.  Better get the printer running and make five more Hive tyrant torsos for ten tyrants in total.

I find the SM box is very uninspired  I can see the theme, but three times the same kit, and two pushfit kits don't make me wanna buy this.

I get that. The bikes and ATV may be good future proofing for any further character-on-bike releases, but aren't that appealing right now. The Assault Marines are also an awkward number, unless one wants to run three min-sized units. I think the box works best as conversion fodder. Bikes to Ravenwing Knights, Assault Marines to Sanguinary Guard and/or Vanguard Veterans.
