The bigger thing is the stealth discontinuation, assuming its not just teething troubles with the new website?

Both Space Wolf Grey Slayers upgrades are also gone, which used the old plastic MKIII as a basis. It could just be a big coincidence, but considering Phalanx Warders are still there (who use MKIV) it seems unlikely.

Of course they could just show up in a few days as if nothing happened, but it is curious.

Strangely the resin MKIII Despoilers, who you're 'technically' supposed to use the upgrade kit with (although few do for obvious reasons) are still available.

Does make me wonder if the 'Loyalist' MKVI Champion was foreshadowing.

Oh damn, I had just assumed that kit had gone OOP already, Huh.

If they base new Templar Brethren on that Champion Consul I certainly hope their gorgets don't dip below the neck like the champions. I guess they did that to leave room for the beak but to be honest they shoulve just given him a different helmet entirely, rather than opt for the poor compromise of a very nonsensical gorget.

How come no one rips on the Sword Brethren for having the same gorget? lol

I don't see it, the Sword Brethren one is up higher and seemingly covers the neck while the Champion Consul has the inner part of the armour exposed.

"Age of Darkness" which would cover other events such as the Scouring, Apostasy, Badab down the road.

This is basically where all my Heresy purchases are going already, but haven't used the Heresy rules yet, just 40k. Between refreshed terminators and a Proteus, I'm surprised and honestly thrilled to be adding to my Salamanders after basically nothing since 8th ed when I switched chapters for Primaris launch. Heresy seems to be where the oldmarines are actually getting redone so that the remaining MkOldmarine crowd has something to buy, and I applaud it 100%. I definitely think of the Heresy range as Codex: Oldmarines at this point more than as a separate game. Also I just don't care: I'm taking the Legends sheets for my Leviathans in friendly games, and if anyone has a problem they're luckily the same price as Redemptors : P

My Badab fix has generally come not from marine-on-marine violence, but rather running 'Post-Badab Crusade Brofest' lists: I occasionally use my Space Hulk Lamenters terminators alongside my Salamanders, but now I'm going all-in and painting this kit Executioners colours for 2x5 vanguard units with shields. Now I want Heresy Recon marines so I can do a squad or two of Mantis Warriors ; )

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

It is a little taller granted but same style. Most real gorgets don't really cover the neck though and if the idea of the thing is to keep bullets slides and blows to the chest from deflecting upwards the champions is fine. He is a master swordsman after all so hitting him in throat is pretty unlikely and he does actually have another gorget on the inside of a more typical type wich is the inner part and it's a bit higher than the mark 6 adn 3's built in ones. All do the same job keeping blows from sliding up into the throat and the sides are high enough no ones gonna just lop his head off at the neck. I think he's cool.

I’ve recently done Warders with the assault arms in the new mark 3 and though the arms are noticeably smaller once the pad in on and the axe is glued it looks fine.

Nice I just got some resin and was gonna build some for Raan to run around with. Figuring out a way to clip the axes to the belt. I kinda don't want them to be really fancy. Standard breachers with veteran iconography and power axes is just fine. Something to pass the time waiting for the assualt marines to release.

There's some pretty nice ones as I look a bit further though. Some pretty cool Techmarine ones, as well Librarian and Apothecary ones, which can be really handy to convert your own characters.

Overall, some pretty tasteful inclusions.

The split ones for use on the Deimos Rhino doors or across any seams are a nice touch as well.

I see Rogue Trader era rank markings on that transfer sheet. Might pick these up for 40K instead.

I saw that too, even have the Captain markings on the right side.

I'll be ordering lots of these for sure.

Really GW, you're putting out unit and vehicle transfer sheets seperate from the boxes which they should have been in?

I don't think this means they will stop putting transfer sheets in the kits...

This is basically a reincarnation of the generic Space Marine transfer sheet that FW put out around 2010. But with more options and Heresy specific. All good things, IMO.
