No problem! There is one GM requirement for taking it that I should have thought off before... such an epic weapon most definitely needs a cool name, which I will leave you to come up with!

Note, that it's an unwritten rule that @Xin Ceithan will come round to your house and trim one of your hedges into the shape of a bum if you call it anything along the lines of 'Chainy McChainswordface'.

Just an FYI.

However... any time Vafri manages to roll a multiple of 10 when rolling to Hit, anyone who shouts in the OOC "Chainy McChainsword -to the- face!" will get a bonus prize!

I can live with that - provided it turns out to a blade dedicated  Khorne that drives the wearer mad and ends up killing most of the party.

Wrong thread!

Sorry guys, life has been a bit much lately. Hopefully I am not holding you all up.

@Lysimachus If I remember correctly, I wanted to add a motion predictor to my naval bolter. Other than that, I am not sure what else would be useful. I am open to any suggestions

"What won the Von Caeryd's their warrant, if you know?"

Obviously being Cautious.

I wonder how many years "Murderers in Black" predates "To Plunder the Stars Themselves" ?

Well spotted. I guess maybe a thousand years - ish?

It seems Arian Von Caeryd is just following in his ancestor's footsteps!

Thanks mate, nice post!

Apologies if things are going a bit fast for you. I have tried to stick to one Scene each week and only post in between to answer character questions… How does everyone else feel about the current weekly scene schedule? If I'm being honest, I worry about slowing it down further, it starts getting difficult to maintain any momentum to the game at all…?

One thing I've noticed a couple of players do, if they don't get a chance to post before things move on, when they do post they'll break it up into sections and fill in what they were doing in the previous Scene? That's a great idea, it works almost like a flashback?

Alternatively, if you think of something you want to post, but don't have time to do it there and then, the advice from the start of the game still stands to put a placeholder in? (Ideally a summary so we have a hint of what you're thinking, but in a worst case scenario literally just type ‘placeholder’ and then come back to it?)

Any thoughts/suggestions from anyone else?

Edit: ninja'd! :ph34r::biggrin:

Ok, I caught up and added a post. Sorry for the delay. I kept trying to find the right spot to jump in, and each time I had an idea the scene would change. You are all so fast. Lol

Speaking for myself, I might be speedy, but you have the quality!

To echo our GM (and demonstrate my own advice because he ninja'd me), Just throw it in, my friend, even if it's a 'flashback' type thing. You can always tidy up later, or separate the scenes you're responding to with a break - and we can respond to you as needed. The most important thing is you let the urge to get the idea down flow through you.

Like the Force!

Thanks guys. It’s ok, mostly it was a compliment about how quickly you all can knock out interesting narrative.

I was struggling a bit trying to figure out how to approach Bek’s mindset and what he would say/do.

Side question, what special ammo would you guys recommend?

At our Renown and Requisition level, and a virtually unchanged loadout (ie rocking your OG bolter), Spec Ammo choices for me boil down to three.

IMHO Hellfire and Kraken top the shop, the former because it's 2 x Chances to proc Righteous Fury per shot (and procs it on 9 or 10) and ignores Natural Armour, but Kraken's AP 8, and Extended Range hurts stuff harder with every shot, and more often than not improves the Range band to Close Range (under half range, +10 to Hit).

Metal Storm comes in close second, as it turns a Boltgun's Semi-Auto 3 into Blast (6) + 1 for Explosive, for Seven hits on a Horde, where a Frag Grenade only does 5.

Stalker is handy if you're running silent, but may be a waste for a Breacher.

My tuppence, anyway.

Any other thoughts, gang?

I think that sums up the strengths/weaknesses pretty well!

The only other thing to consider is that Bekkar Req'd a Motion Predictor, so firing on Semi-auto might be preferable... but I don't think that would change anything with regard to which ammo type he was using?

None at all, the Predictor just adds to the Hit Chance IIRC, which, if coupled with Bolter Mastery and Short Range (of Kraken or otherwise) lands him a significant bonus to hit, and thereby clock-up Damage. BM gives +2 Dam, so he's hitting at nearly Heavy Bolter strength as well.

The Shot Selector lets him choose which rounds he's using before the Attack as a Free Action.

Just a note for those who wanted to take a tour of the Supremacy, you have been given full access to every and any part of the ship so go wherever you want, the crew will be polite, helpful and obedient to your orders*.

If you want to describe any of the parts of the ship that are mentioned in the last IC post in more detail, please feel free. Obviously the ship will have a lot in common with the Strike Cruisers you are familiar with - high tech yet monastic, and a more minimal crew with a much higher living/working standard, etc, etc.

*though obviously if you want to go crawling around in high security areas like the plasma or warp drives or Navigator's station, etc, you might get told you need to get written permission from Ibrym, Vafri and/or Zidemi first (as the ranking Fleet Officer/Marine/Tech-Adept aboard)

Are you meaning for use while still in narrative time/ transit? Yep, sure!

It will have to go back before the next Structured Time, obviously... unless you want to steal some of the 22 Req that is still unspent?

@Mazer Rackham DO IT

To be fair, Vafri/ @Urauloth has dibs on 20 of it as he hasn't Req'd anything yet...

But if we get to (just before) deployment and it still hasn't been spent, I'll throw it open for first come, first served!
