Could we ask Xerxes to repair the damaged bits of our armour? Hagga luckily only had 1 arm that got dropped from AV8 to AV7, but it would be nice to get it fixed?

Can do. Given the timescale this may be a good time for Xerxes to set up his forge facilities - depending on the quanity of components required. Any bonuses going forward will help with more complex jobs as well as reducing any chance of failure on repairs.

As far as I know, you haven't overspent?

Mortals start the game with 1000xp, Marines with 500.

Since then we've earned 2 lots of 500, meaning that Marines are on 1500xp and Mortals are on 2000.

So if you've spent 1750, you've got 250 still to spend?

Kraggan bought a Simple Characteristic Advancement in Strength (100) and acquired the Athletics skill (100), putting him at Khorne 7.

Kraggan has 29 Infamy, 12 Corruption Points (up from 8) and a Khorne Alignment.

Roll away please GM.

Yep. You can modify it up or down by 3 (so to 53, or 58) if you wish, or stick.

Otherwise you turn into a Bloodletter. Ish.

53 is Inside Out which isn't helpful.

58 is Intelligent Cyst, which could be fun for Roleplaying purposes.

Kraggan is 'blessed' with an Intelligent Cyst.

Roleplay Shenanigans

With all the new Players sorted out, Lysi will be running a short and tidy intro game for - @Iron Father Ferrum and @FabiusV4lcoran.

In the mean time, if there is any other left over housekeeping to be discussed, please keep it to OOC for now to clear the decks. Once the onboarding sesh is done, xp and rewards will come into force to align the new players with existing players and tie everything up for Part II - which will start when it starts.

Spectre is in live Play, with Players who are not currently in this Campaign. My duty as GM is to them first.

The extra name threw me; is there gonna be a separate thread or is this gonna be in the Blackest Heart IC, where I posted last time?

Correct, all in the one place.

Board policy is not to open too many threads for the same thing, so when Part II kicks off, it will be the same thread as well.

It also enhances the reading experience, making every narrative post a cohesive piece of the story, and compresses the admin duties.

I'll be aiming to kick things off by the end of the weekend, or maybe a day or two into next week? But once we get going, I'll be aiming to move us along at a decent pace!

I told Mazer in a PM; I am NOT a rusher.  I love the flexibility of PBP, and Lord knows real life is busy and stressful enough without leisure becoming a chore.

*Edit:  I post quick responses because I'm really anxious about people waiting on me.  It is not intended to rush others.

You're in very capable hands, chap, don't fret. Sit back, let the heresy flow through you.

Sweet.  Mazer got me started with one post in the IC thread and I've been antsy ever since!

Excellent!

Gentlemen, enjoy your game.

If that is your first move, then yep I'd say one each of Stealth and Awareness would be appropriate. Due to the terrain being uneven and with a reasonable level of cover, I'd say a +10 to the Stealth test would be fitting. If you want, add them to your IC post and we'll see what happens!

Yes @Lysimachus has slowed down. He doesn't post at Plunder speeds anymore.

@Lysimachus So if the facility is to the east, I assume I'm approaching then from the west (left side of the map)?  Also, what's the sun's position in the sky?  Midday, near dusk, middle of the night?

Very smart question. We'll say we started the game at midday, so by the time you've moved up to your current position, 2 or 3 hours have passed?

Note: in the Data thread, Mazer described the Ithyca-II star as green, small, main phase.

However, at night time, most of those guards would be asleep, and the few awake were unlikely to be armed or armored.  Plus, the barracks themselves provided cover from visual acquisition from the surrounding towers.  It was probably the best out of four bad options.

Unless they have a good set of shift rotations.

Early Shift, Mid-Shift and Late Shift

I admit it's possible that the prison runs the mines 24/7, but I'm assuming the work is conducted during an 18-ish hour day shift with a 6 hour allotment for sleep during night time hours, in which case the guard force will be at its strongest during the daylight hours when the workforce actively needs to be patrolled.  If this is the case, then fewer guards will be awake and fewer will be active within the facility during nighttime hours.

Again, I could be completely wrong, but putting aside the guard shifts, the northern approach just has the shortest distance from perimeter fence to another structure for cover & concealment from the other towers.  I doubt the armories are within pre-fab barracks and are instead within the main complex, so even if I do have to wade through some off-duty guards they will ideally be unarmored and bearing only rudimentary or light arms.
