I suppose we *could* attempt to create and enslave a daemonhost to our will as opposed to attempting to infect/possess our ship with a captive greater daemon, but YMMV.

Just a thought, but Mukta is a pilot and was disappointed when he didn't get possessed during the prison break. Maybe he's got a greater role to play than any of us realised...?

Edit: side point, but is the new guy in the data thread our boss, then? If so, I'll edit my last IC post and await orders?

I don't know; he looks more like a "human resources" type than a line manager.

I used to quote the gangster classic 'Snatch' regarding HR:

"Dangerous people; and when he doesn't pay up?  They give him the CHOP, Doug!  And I'm not talkin his :cuss:in' foreskin, either!"

Okay, how many daemons are bound to it, and what are my odds of being immediately possessed and/or sucked into a warp rift, never to be seen again?

Fair to reasonable.

Also was my request regarding red dot sight for the melta pistol already in the build queue or am I better off saving that for later?

It's in the build queue.

No, he's not in charge. He's your...uh...

Yeah, that. Kinda.

This.

On a side note, when using expletives, just go ahead and either write the word, (and the board software will pick it up and replace it) or use the :cuss: icon outright. Starring out your vernacular is counted as a swear dodge, and that's an infraction of board rules.

We all know you didn't do/mean that, but I don't want any of us getting into trouble - it's our job to look out for each other.

Ok, I just looked up what a Huntsmaster is in Huron's org... so he's one of only 4 of these guys among the entirety of the Red Corsairs? That seems like a pretty big deal...

Edit: ah, just reread 'former'... ok, fair enough. A retiree? Or someone fallen out of favour with Blackheart?

Appreciate the clarification @Mazer Rackham!

Also y'all aren't waiting on me right?  Is it fair to assume that after I post I'm awaiting acknowledgement from DM and there's no real time crunch on xp spending till gametime?

Huron is an investor in people.

Feel free to ask him!

No worries. This is a tight-knit corner of the B&C and we look after our gang in here.

Well, mostly.

No, there's no rush for anything. We've got until formal launch to sort it all out.

Settled on Mimic, Polyglot, Blasphemous Incantation, and Force Bolt.  Figured since I got the psyker scattergun I could go with a psyker rifle as well.  And just to confirm my reading, the only way to affect alignment is deeds right?  It'll be a while before I can get the fancy Crowlore?

@FabiusV4lcoran - That means that you should go back and edit the post by putting the :cuss: in.

Kind of a mix of both. Your XP spend choices do affect your Alignment (so 3 for Tzeentch, 1 for Slaanesh so far, as far as I can see?) but your choices in-game also have an impact.

For example, I'd be inclined to say that your actions in your pre-game game have brought you closer to Tchar, so it might grant a +1 Tzeentch to your Alignment Tracker (but that would really be up to Mazer to decide!)

Yep, spot on.

Wait...this also means the things I say are both consistent and make sense to my Players...this comes as a shock. Who am I? And what have I done with the real Rackham!!?!

Good shout, don't see why not.

For your dedication and faith in the Great Tchar, I think +1 Tzeentch Align is appropriate.

Hey all.

I think I should make apologies to all the mortal players. I was thinking that the meeting up of the Astartes was just for the purposes of the basement/sewer crawl, which I figured the mortals probably wouldn't be bothered about? (or were busy with stuff already?)

However, if the meeting is going to consider what we are doing moving ahead in the game, then the mortal players have just as much right to input as the marines. Therefore I'll post and make clear that all players are welcome to join?

It was planned as just for the dungeon crawl. The others have their work cut out with armouring and stuff. If any of the Mortal Players want to come along that's fine, but we've had a note from Tro saying he's poorly, so he's not available. Fabius and his drinkin' pal are wandering to the techies, and the mortals will have their own little escapades aboard the Dredge.

I didn't envision the sewer crawl as a Compact, (thus requiring all Players, unless you want to make it one, which means it does not complete until the objective is attained). In-game, it's envisioned as a counter-insurgency operation, one of many which will need to be undertaken to stop you from suffering losses. OOC, it's a way to get everyone who hasn't rolled dice together (Mojake), to let them have a crack of the whip (Mojake's 'intro' game).

Different meeting for when everyone is ready for Part II and start the Objective Compacts. There have already been some ideas from you regarding the  'Mutiny of Bounty' which I will now coin as the Compact Term. This Compact is going to be a lot larger than an Undertaking, and will expand in Scope to an Operation or Enterprise (IIRC) with several major steps along the way. We'll break them down properly when that meeting arrives.

I'll be reading up the larger Compacts and encourage the other Players to do the same.

Mortals? Oh they see some skin and think we're weak because we aren't Astartes.

Augmented of the True Flesh. Bwa, Ha, Ha, Ha!

@Lysimachus - Thank you for your kind words.

While Cyrandras would likely take the opportunity to get a look at our new Corsairs, I’m not sure how quick / how much text I can get in before the weekend . I don’t want this to become another autopilot/  placeholder thing….

Was there an actual summons to meet our new Huntsmaster ?
Then I ‘ll whip something up for Rakash to join in at least.

Othereise or depending on how trigger happy you guys are, he chance upon them during the narrative as we go along?

No. No summons. However, there will be once Part II is ready. Baraduk will do the summoning once all Players are in agreement the Compact should go ahead.

Either of these is fine.

For guidance, Xin, Rakash will know of Baraduk, but has never met him. The Huntmasters are absent often, and while the position brings notoriety and privilege, it does not always accompany familiarity.
