Don't be too disheartened - in this type of game, sometimes things that don't go to plan or dramatic intent make things better. It was an epic moment, and it was one that demonstrated to Obi that what he could rely on before might no longer be viable. This has opened up an RP opportunity for you/Obi, in the fact that sure - he's seen megafauna, maybe even eaten it, but this is a whole different enemy. What does this teach him about the foe? What doubts tremble his mind? Perhaps he is more resolute to kill this beast? Will he allow a hunter of Endymion to be shamed? This is your first real step up in difficulty, so don't worry too much - a Boltgun is a hell of a weapon, but an Abominant is a multi-person kill. Still more of an Elite Class than Master, hence I have to give you something else to chew on. On the Stalker, or Accurate Quality, I don't see why it can't be done, but it will be something to work towards, perhaps?
