When 10th Ed dropped I decided to try and paint up the nids as an exercise in painting quickly and efficiently with good results. Heavy use of Contrast and Xpress paints. Here are the results of my Labour.

Oh man, these are my favourites of what you uploaded recently.

 

Because with the others, I'm like admiring your painting.  Your Sigismund, I'm like that's a really nice worn yellow recipe.  Your Lemartes, that's the best black armour painting, like Non-Metallic Metal or something.  Even Kabandha, that's a beautifully painted daemon.  I still just think of them as works of art.

 

With these Tyranids, I don't even think of painting.  All I'm thinking is, these guys want to EAT my guys.  This was before I noticed the dead Space Marine.  Afterwards, I finally cogitated you mentioned Contrast, I know what you mean, I do stuff with Shades for my Nurgle, but I STILL wasn't thinking of the painting.  These guys just look so alive, and they're HUNGRY.

Wow, these guys look fantastic, especially if you're using a relatively quick and speedy process to get them done. I particularly like how the pale brainy stuff pops out against the darker purple carapaces.
