Cpt.Danjou
CSM 10th edition Haarken Worldclaimer This is a topic about Haarken Worldclaimer in the 10th edition. Do you use him? How are you using him? Do you think he performs well? Do you attach him to any specific unit? Is there a detachment that he is extra crucial? Other Unit of the Week for Chaos Space Marines can be found in the link below. Galron
Granted its almost a year behind but I figure I would post a little on this since I have been using him lately for S&G and hes been pretty fun. He single handedly killed Valdor(?) for me last weekend. I field a large number of jump pack guys in my list so if you arent then you arent going to get much use out of him. I field a full squad of 10 raptors attached to him in the Raiders detachment. Unlike a lot of units, his impact hits arent capped that I have seen. He has a pretty decent primary weapon and a really nice one shot extra weapon per fight phase. I always forget he has Lance on his spear(duh) He has Precision which normally isnt that big a deal but with this character it is since he has some nice weapons and a lot of attacks to use them with. (See Valdor(or whoever the grey knight terminator leader guy is now)) He has the Battle Shock aura which is neat but the raptors have it too at -1 ld so not as big a deal unless you only hit one unit standing near a bunch of others. He is cheap, like 10 points more expensive than a jump pack lord with better equipment than you can give a jump pack lord unfortunately. Which kind of sucks because I have an awesome JP lord modeled up with his big bad 1d lightning claws (queue the down tone tuba noise) His escort squad is configured for close combat, all chain swords and a power fist. If you can catch a target on an objective in Raiders then thats a ton of -2ap hits after the 6 or so mortal wounds go through. Really 10 raptors isnt that expensive pointwise and you get a lot out of them teamed up with this guy. He is kind of like a combat version of Shrike teamed with jump Intercessors. I use Raiders pretty heavily for the +1 ap on objectives so I have not tried Vets of the Long War but I can see the half OoM being useful there. As for the other detachments I personally have only used Fell Hammer and I havent used him in that one. I still hate Dinobots and havent used the dinobot detachment or the grotmas detachment and dont have the number of cultists to try the cultist detachment. The actual Night Lord detachment is still pants in my opinion even if it would give a -2 to the battleshock test(WOOO!) Deceptors is fun but would hurt the whole deepstrike game if that was how you were going to use him by making the opponent pack his own side of the board. That said....
