Tzeentch Abominant, Slaanesh Despoiler, Khorne Lancer

 

Tzeentch will have some yellow paneling, Slaanesh white, and khorne black. I've got the gloss varnish on so will be taping off sections tomorrow to ideally finish paneling before going nuts on metal spraying

Question for non colorblind people on the Tzeentch knight, what color should I do the trim? I'd initially thought I'd use silver, but I'm not sure if they'd stand out enough from the skeleton. Though the skeleton is going to have double rust washes, so maybe it'll throw the tint off enough that it'll be fine.

 

 

of course the lancer is standing on Ultramarines, because Ultramarines are nerds.

 

 

All the trim here will be gold.

Tzeentch's traditional colour is gold - if you used a darker one, it would probably contrast OK with the yellow and blue.

 

Having said that, a silver or gun metal would work too

Really happy how this came out. I used more layers of weathering and actually used ChatGPT a lot for keeping track of minimum dry times and other steps. At one point instead of "panel" I typed "Penelope" so ChatGPT now calls it Penelope.

 

So I proudly present Penelopia Diabolica.

Got a little bit more work in on the Lancer, but made the mistake of trying to put ink on top of a gloss varnish for the tip of the lance. I'll fix it tomorrow and then get on to the couple days worth of weathering.

The Slaanesh Despoiler is coming along well, I think I'll finish trim tomorrow and optimistically get to decals.

So CtA is where I tend to let my individual log die a bit, so let's do a little catchup post to consolidate stuff from there.

And now the current WIP... a Deathwatch Repulsor and Gladiator.

 

Not much of a change up here from the BT, just used gunmetal to aluminum for the secondary color instead of the white volumetric. I'll be doing decals and initial oil washes tomorrow, I think I'll finish super late Friday or early Saturday.

 

 

That's it for now, I've got a lot of EC primed and ready to get cracking on while weathering steps are drying on these guys.

Good bit of progress on the 12x NMs/Lords, now for the trim. Probably will take until Monday night and then get to weathering.

Loving your EC, Boc - having the opulent white and lavender be so grungy really gives them a depraved, fallen look.

Whew, CtA is over. I hit a slump at the end with the EC infantry, so wasn't able to get the additional knights knocked out that i wanted, but the newest WIP is a nice pallette cleanser.

 

The Admech models are the first Admech I've done, and i tried to make the reds a bit... browner, i guess?

 

I picked up the Dunecrawlers at a local event with players offloading stuff for cheap, and the Thanatar whatever dude was conveniently discounted at a FLGS because the player base there doesn't do HH. 

 

 

I've got the black oil stage done, so next will be rust on the frames and maybe a brick red wash on the plates. Kind of undecided on that atm. I think I'll be able to finish these Sunday night if everything moves smoothly. 

 

Also have a couple Tau in progress, since if I'm painting stuff red i might as well paint more stuff red. 

 

 

Much brighter tone on those. I'll be doing heads white tomorrow while the Admech are drying and maybe get to gloss varnish + wash #1 tomorrow night. We'll see.

I think I'll be ready for weathering on the Tyrant I've got in WIP tomorrow night, and the next batch will be a couple of Nids and some mix of Knights, since I've still got what some may consider "an unhealthy amount" in the queue.

The Tyrant is drying overnight after the black and rust washes today, so if I'm unrealistically optimistic I'll finish it up tomorrow night, but definitely by Tuesday night. Might even manage to get it in time to meet my September pledge.

 

While waiting for it to dry, I've got a Castigator, 3 war dogs, and some nids in the queue. The intent on the war dogs is to paint them to keep, and then sell my older ones (with the blood bases and sporadic armor plate colors) to build a more coherent war dog appearance. Big knights will still be all over the place since it feels thematic to match the big knight pilot egos.

 

I've always been a fan of this Chaos Lord model (never got one), and wanted to mimic the menace of it.

 

I think i got the sword arm angle a bit wrong, but was concerned about if it could fit with rhe shoulder plates. 

 

 

I've got the waist magnetized with support pins like I did on my lancer, but still worry about the 3D printed Slaanesh plates making it too top heavy. We'll see.

 

I've got a good amount of weapon magnetizing left to do on the war dogs to make each one able to do every configuration, so probably wont get around to base coating them until Tuesday or Wednesday. The nids are purely being done to clear the backlog and sell.
