I'm legitimately confused what planet GW is on with their current reveal and release trend in honesty.

I know Valrak said these were coming so shouldn't be a shock, but why now? They've shown huron with no further info or context officially, so these seem like a random stock clear attempt.

They've historically tended to do these bundle FOMO boxes around pre-new edition campaigns, to be fair. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with... whatever the Eye of Terror book's name is as a heading, like the Necron box for 500 Worlds.

For my money I have a feeling they'll show the leaked Maelstrom stuff at the end of today.

My first thought regarding the Khorne box and the awful Bloodletters, the other boxes not so much as they're not laden with terrible old minis.

I am still wondering what on earth GW is doing with Daemons as a whole.

Are they getting rid of them, are they not, what is the plan here?

They badly need new models but they are getting a flat nothing.

Shoving a load of old Bloodletters and Bloodcrushers in a new box does nothing for me.

They seem to refuse to use the generic vehicles, so instead you have the 4th large box for EC in 12 months with nigh identical contents. All these do is show how little attention they've had mini wise this last edition or two.

Ok, but these are utterly divorced from any of that in reality, if book 3 is about the eye then they'd make sense there maybe? Just 2 months early if so.

Honestly, I think that some wag at GW thought it would be funny to announce more Marine releases of the first day of the year to follow up on the 'Ultramarines protests'.

The EC look to be the best value in that they are new kits that can be built in different ways - ideal for a new(ish) army project.

Reminder that GW don't clear stock in this fashion. All these sprues are freshly printed for these fomo boxes. Especially since uneven levels of existing stock will probably mean a trip to the printers anyway, easier and cheaper to do it this way.

I'm sure these will sell out as they always do, but as a TS enjoyer I already have more sorcerers than I will ever need or paint. Would love another Infernal Master and MVB at box-discount, but more sorcs and a 10-brick of termies isn't even remotely tempting. This is where the lack of units for the faction really shows as a problem.

And three bloat drones? Okay.

Ironically, that’s part of what makes it appealing to me as someone with none. The infantry round out min sized units from previous box sets.

The odd part with the Sorcerers is the fact there's no Rubrics for them to attach to.

I hope that's a hint that 11th goes back go the character rules of 8th and 9th.

No thank you, "shoot harder whilst I stand 6ft away" was and remains a pants implementation imo

Hope not, much prefer the character rules of attaching to squads. Problem lies more with some abilities being tied to that when they should be army wide. However, the shenanigans of trying to get all units under different auras for maximum benefit, is something I do not miss at all. Plus attaching to squads feels like a nice throwback to older editions.

They weren't six feet away though, and it makes more sense vs "Yeah I'm th Chaplain next to three squads, but only ONE of you likes my yelling enough to be inspired".

Not convinced Emperor's Children needed another bundle box. Four in less than a year feels ridiculous, especially when there are so few kits in the range and they're all basically repeating each other.

Never mind it's not relevant.

Off topic.

@DemonGSides I do not mean it dismissively! Almost any 'formation' or box set that combines a bunch of stuff seems to always have some underpowered, under loved, under utilized unit or 2 that was conveniently 'never used' in meta lists.

AKA: Its included to shift stock.

Is that not universally understood?

Excessive, one might say...

The character rules were universally maligned as it led to genuinely ridiculous shenanigans. There's a reason they were dropped and totally changed.

Rules don't always have to make sense vs reality. They need to make sense within the context of the game and what the designers are trying to achieve. The current system is much better than last ed and nobody would convince me otherwise.

That is one thing that better not return.
