I prefer re-roll wounds over re-roll hits, as the latter always feels like the second shot evaporates if the first one hits, while the former wounds better due to both projectiles hitting close to the same spot. Flat out more shots is king though.

I prefer zero rerolls at all.

If GW doesn't increase prices how can shareholders and executives get there fifth car, third house, tenth holiday or a jolly to space.

On a serious note, that is less than I expected though I also wonder if GW is hitting a ceiling with prices.

Ironically, these boxes were usually a good place to save money on characters and I want these characters. This box has now become a “if I can find someone who wants the Orks in a split” purchase.

Woof, that's a bit steep. I would like to get the box, but we'll have to see.

Yeah, I thought it would be in this ball park and it is also sadly my "nope" territory. For that much I could pick up a lot, if not all the papsikel stuff I've been eyeing.

The fact that they admitted that Bringers of Flame detachment for SoB is 2DP kind of hints at what power level those codex detachments that are 2DP will posses.

I will still be extra bummed when Aspect Host is 3DP and Gladius is inevitably 2DP.

More price and you're getting a less fancy version of the rules.  Kind of annoying, not going to lie.

You do get the fancy hardback Armageddon campaign book in the big box. Personally I prefer the slimline rulebook because it is so much easier to carry. It would be nice if people had both options though.

Latest rumours via Valrak - £180 armageddon box

So using GW weird conversion rate that's around 280-285 usd.

Well wasn't gonna get the box anyway, I got Leviathan and haven't even finished that 3 years later, also I think the marine side, the lore book and rules in this box are a weak offering (total subjective opinion, for example in leviathan we got new scale terminators, in this box we get vanguard veterans that looks very close to normal vanguard marines, the only thing that Interests me is the new land speeder), orks are the only shining star.

If they still do the starter boxes maybe I will get one of those in 2 years or so.

Two Combat Patrols alone would be £210, so it's still technically a saving.

GW market cap is currently £6.4B so technically I could save a lot of money per model by just buying the whole company and selling the minis I don't want :D

Seriously at 180 GBP I might be looking for a bigger than 20 percent discount to buy, as for Saturnine and Skaventide. The funny thing is it looks to me like GW have looked for ways to keep the cost down (mini rulebook for example, no terrain) but it is still a lot right now.

It is a bit cheap of them not to include just the cardboard terrain templates, at least.  It wouldn't really add much weight to the box.

GW pricing and my addiction to this hobby still sees me looking at £180 as a saving! Therein lies the problem with warhammer prices... Still, I have a friend wanting to get into the hobby so I'll be selling her my Orks for £50. So it'll be £130 for the marine half and the books and paraphernalia. That's still a saving when you just know the jump chaplain, ancient and Eradicators will go into one of those "Heroes of the Chapter" ridiculously priced £60 boxes.

And combat patrols on their own are $205 so £90-100.

£120 to £150 for the last two editions was roughly in line with inflation. £150 in 2023 is only £160 now though, so that's a big price hike if it's going to £180.

They've also increased their prices almost every year in that time though.

World Eaters. Tau tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if 4 years of £180-£200 Heresy starters and two years of £170 Old World starters has given them some confidence, especially with 40k being their most popular system by a country mile.
