crimsondave
Incomplete or not, I'm a big miffed about the janky rule book in the box. This is the most expensive starter box we've had and we get the jankiest soft cover rulebook of any edition since 2nd edition. Maybe no one else cares but it annoys me to no end. mel_danes and Interrogator Stobz 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387719-new-warhammer-40000-edition-announced/page/63/#findComment-6176664 Share on other sites

I fondly remember the mini rulebook from Assault on Black Reach, and it influenced me to get the Armageddon box. The fact that it's not a complete rulebook is absolute . There's been more soft covers rulebooks than hardback in the boxes. Leviathan, dark Imperium and indomitus were all hardback door wedges with vast amounts of fluff that jacked up the book weight and made it unwieldy for gaming. 8 editions of 40k have had softcover books by comparison. I get the frustration with incomplete, but not the portable, rules only rulebook. mel_danes
I don't have my box yet, it's in the post. I love the older smaller scale rulebooks. But this is not the rules, it's some of the rules and then directs us to the app. News Alert GW the printed version of the hyperlinks didn't work that way. It's not a PDF. If they want to drive everyone to the app just do it, don't tease us. On a positive note I'm dying to cut into these minis! They look so good, the stuff I'm saying online is great. One thing that might never have happened, but isn't there, is like a brief walkthrough guide to playing the game with the models included in the box? You know, mission one is just intercessors vs boyz to move, shoot, charge, fight, battleshock, then mission 2 gives you a leader, and mission 3 gives you the vehicle thing. I may very well be conflating this with other editions or boxed sets or something though. There wasn’t anything like that in the 9th and 10th Launch boxes either. They'll be in the starter sets though (though that was definitely the case with 9ths starter sets not sure about 10th) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387719-new-warhammer-40000-edition-announced/page/63/#findComment-6176684 Share on other sites
