That makes sense.

I've always advocated rule of cool. Meta chasing is a fool's dream (in my humble view). There was a reason I played kakophoni in heresy 1.0 when they were released with book 2 and it sure as heck wasn't their rules.

Bring them all to Legends. Looking forward to not needing to buy a codex for my green Marines ever again.

Lol GW will probably only grant legends access to the rules in the app if you own the codex...

They will almost certainly remain available as a free download pdf. Not everyone cares about the app. (I use it, but many don’t)

Rules are temporary, models are forever (when you've bought them anyway)

This is the way. Personally I'm building my Marines to be visually classic Astartes but playable as Primaris. Intercessors are easily stood in for with upscaled Tacticals, Assault Intercessors similarly. And most of the other units are either similarly easy to stand in with converted upscaled Marines with minimal work, or so conceptually stupid that no amount of conversion or tabletop performance will make them palatable, and thus will not be considered anyway. Only tricky part will be vehicles; Dreadnoughts I can deal with (the Leviathan chassis works well as a basis for a less nasal Redemptor) but the grav tanks might take a bit more work- especially if they have rules that would make tracked conversions weird on the table. If the Rhino and Land Raider really are getting a refresh that's great at least.

LoL, wouldn't be surprised.

Luckily New Recruit doesn't care. But it would be nice to have either Pdf or proper app support for my Legendary lads.

Getting them all in one place is the key to ocd happiness.

I think it depends if you want the in-game tracker and access to your opponents list as well.

You'll end up using maybe 3 apps instead of 1 without the GW one I think.

Heres hoping that we dont lose a bunch of Legends options this time around like we have in previous editions changes. I think a decent amount of the angst over things going to Legends would ease if we could trust that the legends rules would stick around, rather than it being a final stop before squatsville.

It's why I always suggest to people to buy the models they like as opposed to the ones that have great rules at any given time...

Yeah, this is 100% the way to go.

I'd still be sad to see the Vindicator go, as it's one of my favorite models/concepts and one that I don't think is easily replacable.

GW probably wanted to sell their last already produced Vindicator kits before legending them...

It's been good quite literally the whole edition so if that's really what you think their reasoning was, you're giving GW a lot of credit for forward thinking.

It has been good all edition, but it's become great in the last year due to how the game has developed and the kinds of threats being faced on the tabletop.

Since Rhino is getting refresh will it also apply to Sisters of Battle Rhino?

Who can say? The AS' Rhino and its variants are built on top of the base SM Rhino kit, so maybe? Alternatively a new Rhino could maintain compatibility with their upgrade sprues and get packed in with identical upgrades, or GW could have two Rhino chassis in production at the same time if they decide the existing Rhino scales well with the current Sisters. Really, anything could happen at this point.

If they bring back the Repressor they can sell it to Sisters and Agents (Arbites) players at least. FWIW all the Rhino parts of the Immolator are on it's unique sprue(s) rather than shared unlike the SoB Rhino just being an extra one tossed in.

New Primaris Ven Dread would appropiately make Bjorn of the very last first born dreads

And then he gets upgraded with Space Wolves codex release.

Maybe they'll even put him in Contemptor.

It's interesting that the new Core Rules pdf for 11th Edition shows the following on pages 6-7:

- Whirlwind

- Vindicator

- Rhino

- Baal Predator

- Land Raider and Redeemer
- Stormraven

So that suggests to me that these models are staying around at least for the early part of 11th edition....although there is also an old-style Drop Pod in there and so maybe they just did not think through the model selection completely. Seems odd to miss that in such an important photo, in the sense of the first large photo in the new edition.

It's also possible that the decision to legends those units came later than when the photo was taken. I wouldn't put much stock in it but on the other hand, we don't know if the runours themselves are true until GW show their hand. What will be, will be.

Multipart outriders are long overdue as is a bike captain.

Venerable dreadnought... would love it if we could get chapter specific ones like Forgeworld of yesterdecades

Oh well, guess I can still use crucible rules for the rest (once I get to converting some. (thinking of putting the Techmarine on an atv with a real big servo arm)
