I mean, it could actually be a super sharpened blade? The old metal minis' ripper guns had nasty looking blade/bayonet attachments?

I'm not sure if weight is an issue for anyone else? If it is, Good Qual Flak definitely fixes the issue, and AV5 is a cherry?

I kind of like the idea of the better armour, the weight might be less of an issue, but an armour point is still one damage less.

I think, even if we don't go with the armour upgrade, I might stick with just grapnel or drop harness. I'd maybe spend the extra 10 on either photo-contacts or respirators? (either of which is 8, find something else for the last 2?)

I'd assume that if we are deployed somewhere were either of those are essential (as opposed to just convenient) we can try to make the relevant logistic test for that mission, and that respirators or photovisors are easier to obtain that way then say the better armour.

Fair points both.

So, are we thinking:

Best Qual Flak (10)

Laspistol Sidearm (5)

Drop-harness (5)

Microbead (8)

Chrono (2)

It is a nice round final figure?

The plastic ones still have a sharp blade, trust me, they have drawn blood when I build the Scathian XX Auxillia Regiment.

Edit: Actualy now that I think about it that migth have been the spike on the Bonehead's converted maul.

'The Ffolk - The Ogryn Clans of Mirador employ a good degree of weapon craft that they have applied to their Ripper Guns. They are more durable and advanced than the common Ripper Gun, sporting axe blades mounted in a radial position around the barrel of the gun.'

I think it should be a boxing glove with a horseshoe in it or glued to it that's on a stick and fits in the barrel like a plug bayonet.

Dreadsock?

Don't see a problem?

In all sincerity, neither your flak armour or your boots are Ogryn proof, but you still get them. I doubt a grapnel could actually hold an Ogryn anyway. Even if they aren't you should have sufficient strength to keep your grip.

My Autocorrect wants to say OB-GYN instead of Ogryn. It's...been a long day.

Are Drop Harnesses Ogryn-Proof?

Ogryn-Proof is a wepaons quality, so I have been going of the assumption that ay non-weapon item issued to a Ogryn will be Ogryn suitable/usable.

I guess since everyone is moving so quickly I will as well. Nurgle's Blessing has faded somewhat, so I'll start working up "Doc" the Medic and "Cutter" his assistant when I get back from picking up the kiddo from school.

Anything in particular I should aim the character towards narratively- old, bitter, happy, addicted to stims?

Does your guy have a mono-edged walking stick, or just his tongue, and is he really American, or British-faking-it?

Enquiring minds wish to know.

There's a random demeanour table you can roll on in the Comrade sub-chapter if you need some inspiration!

If you need to rest up then do that, from what our GM laid out there is still good time to get things sorted.

I’d prefer a experienced medic, but a lucky one will do...

Do what works for you I’d say.

That seems oddly familiar to me. Oh, I'm assuming it is a medicae majoris named for a domicile?

It's less of a call for inspiration and more of making sure I don't step on toes as far as others' characters go. Don't need two wise-cracking geezers, for example.

I'm literally just sitting around anyways, only reason I was delaying was because it is more convenient to me to use my work pc than my tablet, but since I'm doing nothing at all I don't mind the page-turning.

I have a feeling that Doc will not be super young. Even if he's just an IG medic they seem older than the normal soldier.

We may start a bit earlier, I'll see how we get on. I start a new job 1st June, go on holiday 6th June for a week, then have a small holiday end of June too, so we might have to do 2-3 pauses if we start earlier.

It does seem to be the way in most stories. I guess it's logical, you all do your best to keep your medic alive so they can keep you alive!

Could be funny to switch it up, though? Have a fresh faced kid straight out of med school in Mirador's capital, called up to serve in the most recent recruitment drive, replacing the old doc we all liked, etc, etc?

Does that mean we are decided on squad roles now? Did @A.T. pick a Specialty yet?
