Anyone else notice the older models are hiding in the back?1000074288.thumb.jpg.88a046ec105fc4b2f90ad949d6a399cb.jpg

Trajann Valoris apparently doesn't lead from the front. He hangs back with the Sisters.

Height insecurity. Many such cases.

I need to see Trajann alongside the new models.

I'm thinking that it might be better to convert my own model but that Lion cloak will be hard to top...

Here's a broken Trajann I'm trying to fix next to one of the new guys (with a 3d printed Cloaked head).1000074291.thumb.jpg.a1301362f55e634bd28b64694635d15e.jpg

Something of note here is unit sizes of 3 Custodes means the "bulk" of your army effectively ignores [BLAST].

Will be interesting to see how SoS shake out tho, since with presumably larger numbers they're probably gonna end up as point holders (also I hope they get the update they need soon in both gamelines).

I was avoiding it by running 4 dudes where I could.

I'm still very annoyed about no mixing shields with spears.

Hopefully tomorrow's article will say something about SoS- they're really the only part of Custodes that interest me. With marines, orks, custodes that have left SoS unchanged and a set of rules that nuked crusade? Haven't had this little interest in 40k since 6/7 ed.

Literally the only thing I've seen that interests me at all this edition is Exodites.

I noticed the Vexilla does not replace the Spear in the data card for the Custodian Guard Sodality.

A common change we also saw with the SM ancients in the recent codex. I guess GW finally realized no one is paying a premium to get their units disarmed.

The newest models they really want you to buy loads of front and center in current photograpy?

Shocking, who'd imagine they would do this.

They’ve literally always done it lol, not sure why it’s a surprise to anyone

More rules. That was fast.

In the new Codex, your Custodians become readied at the start of their Command Phase, and can choose one ka’tah during the turn when certain conditions are fulfilled. After they’ve used the ka’tah ability, the unit is no longer readied, so make sure you use the right one at the right time.* Unlike the previous Codex, ka’tahs aren’t solely used in the Fight phase, and now you have six options rather than just two.

We’ll have news about impending pre-orders for Adeptus Custodes miniatures and their brand new Codex very soon. Join us again next week for more rules reveals.

I like these rules. They are potent but will require a bit of thought on when to use them. Custodes seem to be moving a lot closer to faction that will require real thought and skill on how to use them, which I'm all for as it should hopefully lead to more rewarding ways to play beyond, 'slam large squads to the foe until they die'.

Really hope we get an idea of squad sizes on other units, points and new weapon profiles soon. I've got the vehicles from the battle group and entirety of the latest box to build, but want to know the gun profiles on the Gyrfalcons before building them as it looks like they are not magnetising friendly unlike the Telemon.

Also need to know points so I can work out if my desire to field as many jetbikes as possible means they'll have units to support them or if it's Bayezara and her riders against the world!

So katahs are on a squad level now and there are six of it? This seems like a lot of bookkeeping and remembering stuff.

I’m thinking lower unit count will help. Personally, I’d make markers to show readies units.

Yeah you write down a number next to each Ka'tah and just have a die next to the squad of which one you take.

The command pack will have tokens as well, or just a few colored poker chips.  Plus, with the choices presented, I don't think there's going to be much debate on which one you're in, as they all seem to be pretty obvious when to use.
