    XIVth Legion build

    By W.A.Rorie

So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists  Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.   I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w

    Jagieŀŀo inspects their prizes

    By GSCUprising

The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.   Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance. The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield

    Square Pants Bob

    By Bouargh

Hi Folks,   Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).     The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of

    Wrapping Wreckas

    By zulu.tango

Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg

"I long for death, not because I seek peace, but because I seek the war eternal."

Well I kept going back and forth on building Imperial Fists or Exorcists for my Crux Terminatus box.  And my Tortuga, basing, and cloaks all arrived for my Grey Knight Project.  Still waiting on my Army Painter order to arrive, but Spray Gunner order arrived so I'll be setting up quick disconnects on my airbrushes. I really need to change my Spray booth filter, this week too.    It was a cold and wet few days here and glad I had water traps on my airbrushes and compressor. Even paintin

1st Company of the Imperial Fists Chapter part 4- Reinforcements Located

Let the skies roar and the world tremble! I come to this place with the Emperor’s fury in my soul, and I shall not be denied! - Imperial Fists 4th Company Captain Alars Lydoro, at the Conquest of Brax    - Will not paint up Phobos marines in Imperial fist colors! I will not paint phobos marines up in Imperial Fist colors.-   Damn that Phobos is sexy......but I will not be painting Imperial Fists Phobos marines.....I hope...I love Phobos armor!   So I was packin

10th Company of Imperial Fists- Scouts

"DO WE BEMOAN SUCH LOSSES? NO! WE ARE THE FISTS! WE DO NOT NEED TO HIBERNATE OR SPIT VENOM. WE CRUSH OUR ENEMIES!" - Teachings of Rhetoricus, upon the losses of Sus-an Membrane and Betcher's Gland.     So I love Scouts. possible more than I love terminators. I have 2 Squads of 5 in my Exorcists Chapter (actually I have 11 models done for them)      So when I am thinking about building my Emperor's Shield Detachment Imperial Fist forces I know I want Scouts

1st Company of the Imperial Fists Chapter part 3- Now with Paint!

"The Emperor commands us. Dorn guides us. Honour shields us. Fear our name, for it is vengeance." Rhetoricus of the Imperial Fists   So I was going to to paint the models as Exorcists. So yesterday I pulled the Terminators to work on them. 17 Terminators built, counting the characters.  One of the terminators needs a magnet in the base. The Terminators are primed Army Painter Plate mail primer and I figured lets work on the Chaplain and Librarian.    Not Exorcists

1st Company of the Imperial Fists Chapter - Part 2

"The Imperium is nothing less than the greatest fortress in Human history. Every world is a bastion, a redoubt made mighty by faith and toil. We are the defenders of this fortress, the praetorians who stand watch upon the walls, and who sally out to shatter each new threat as it masses before the Imperium’s gates. While we stand our watch, this realm shall never fall."   Vladimir Pugh, Chapter Master of the Imperial Fists (deceased)         So I am proceedin

1st Company of the Imperial Fists Chapter

‘Many foes have sought to shatter my mind and my spirit. I bear the myriad scars of their wasted efforts. In my veins runs the blood of Dorn, and while my hearts still beat, I shall never be broken.’   Darnath Lysander     1st Company Commander Darnath Lysander leading a force of Terminators and Dreadnoughts, what is not to love! The Crux Terminatus box is amazing but the problem I have is I already have 4 squads of Terminators and all the characters minus the Anci

Armored Support acquired......

Well that was not planned....   I have a bunch of Phobos, more than I probably need or can use. It is all infantry and outside of the Suppressors and the one of the two squads of Eliminators having las-fusils, lack big guns. Plus the Scouts Sniper Rifle and Heavy Bolter.  Adding another Suppressors is out of the question, as they are expensive money wise. So how do I add big guns to the list.   So I was able to pick up a Gladiator kit Lancer will be added (well the

The Exorcists- The Hexbreakers

Despite their similarities to the Grey Knights, the combat doctrine of the Exorcists differs greatly. Unlike the Grey Knights, the Exorcists possess no special resources other than hardened resolve to fight the Daemonic, and are more strategically flexible due to their adherence to the Codex Astartes. They are known for their effective reconnaissance and large use of Scouts, deploying them behind enemy lines to collect intelligence. Indeed, many of these Scouts undertake combat duties that would

Origin And Forging

Treya was little more than a footnote in the annals of the Ullanor Crusade. Neither Ork nor Astartes set foot upon its soil, nor was its system marked by any great battle or tactical significance. Of its five planets—only one held any promise for habitation. Even then, only half of the planet’s surface was considered viable for colonization, the rest locked in an endless cycle of freezing and flooding due to the planet’s extreme axial tilt. Where ice did not entomb the world, tidal deluge follow

"We are at War with forces too terrible to comprehend......."

"We cannot afford mercy for any of its victims too weak to take the correct course. Mercy destroys us; it weakens us and saps our resolve. Put aside all such thoughts. They are not worthy of Inquisitors in the service of Our Emperor. Praise His name for in our resolve we only reflect his purpose of will."   The Book of Exorcisms, the Verses of Inquisitor Enoch     This past weekend, I had 2 games with my Grey Knights against Emperor's Children (win) but tabled and

The Exorcists- Enochian Guard

The Enochian Guard is an elite formation of Orisons* in the Exorcists Chapter. Making up the Veterans of the Chapter's 1st Company, they typically are equipped with Terminator Armour. The Guard is named after Enoch Trismegistus, the Exorcists very first Chapter Master. The Enochian Guard pride themselves on being Daemon slayers, and membership to its numbers carries a requirement of having slain a manifested Daemon in single combat.   So I keep running the idea of running Exorcist

"After a period of recuperation,...."

"....the subjects were instructed in the methods of combating the Daemonic, trained in the use of the 666 verses of the Book of Exorcisms and equipped with the weapons of an Exorcist. The two companies were then put into action on a Daemon-infested world on the northern fringes of the Eye of Terror. With a squad of the Grey Knights held in reserve, the Exorcist Space Marines achieved a kill ratio of 97:1. Impressive under normal circumstances, but against the Daemonic, I'm sure you'll agree that
