Ah my apologies Chaplain! Still a bit new here and learning my way around (not helped by catching the flu at the end of January, I haven't painted anything since then) is there a way for me to move it or ask for it to be moved? Or should this one be closed and reopened there? And many thanks to Inquisitor Van Horn! Resources like that are exactly I'm searching for so I can build them properly - I do like Jaws of Argos as well but it just doesn't quite flow for me - the feeling like you found the first or second runner up instead of the winner you know? Could be wrong which is why I figured I should ask for some input, working well so far! The IA is the Index Astartes right? Though as far as the knowledge of their origins I originally planned for Cawl and the Chapter Master to be fully aware, as well as the upper echelon of their command structure, with the brothers as a whole only loosely aware - rumors floating through the Chapter but never leaving their walls - with the fresh initiates being told firmly that they are sons of Dorn - no one else! No problem you are most welcome, and welcome to the Liber! You are correct an IA is an Index Astartes, and do you mean kind of like an Unforgiven/Dark Angels style of Inner Circle? Because that could work, but you will have to make sure you explain why Cawl felt it important that they know, like how does it benefit them, him or the Imperium? Remember there are numerous Chapters who are rumoured to be descended from Traitors gene-stock like Blood Ravens (Thousand Sons), Silver Skulls (Iron Warriors) and possibly even the Carcharodons (Night Lords) and none of them strictly speaking know, know as far as we are aware. I am by no means trying to say it won't work or shouldn't be done, just make sure that you think about why they were told and explain it and all will be as Golden as a Custode, jsut trying to provide food for thought :)

I like the idea, and would agree that the "Jaws of Argos" is a strong name and good for the loyalty it brings to mind. The one thing I would say is that if doing a Primaris Chapter descended from a Traitor Legion make sure that you keep it subtle, hinting at their true lineage rather than stating it in the IA. From an in Universe stand point the only person remotely aware of it would be Cawl so for all intents and purposes they should believe themselves as Scions of Dorn. Maybe when describing the Marines and their command structure try and draw from the HH book Betrayer and how they were before the coming of Angron. Another useful source is: http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/War_Hounds where the below quote is from: It could be worth having the Jaws behave in a similar manner as a subtle nod to their true origins with out stating out right and keeping the IA limited to the in universe knowledge that the Imperium has. Although feel free to disregard it is jsut a personal opinion :)

The Algonquin Table - A Liber Writing Challenge
Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to Minigiant's topic in + THE LIBER +
This is a brilliant idea, count me in :) I, Inquisitor Van Horn, of the Celestial Knights take up the Challenge. I vow, before my brothers and sisters of the B&C to complete one Index Astartes inspired by the work of Andrzej Sapkowski and submit it to the Liber. I vow to support my fellow challengers to the best of my ability. May the Emperor himself curse me if I fail. -
Index Astartes: The Steel Harbingers(WIP)
Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to dudemanmcgee's topic in + THE LIBER +
I like the additions, a little more detail on the 10 days war and the Tau campaign would be good though Also slight side point you mention: Why is this? I assume it isn't due to the founding, It would be really cool if this was a because of a defeat or Pyrrhic victory that could be explored as an interim between the two conflicts and a nice chance to demonstrate how your chapter deals with hardship. Again just a suggestion Keep up the good work! -
I really like what you have done so far, and I personally enjoy the fact that they're son's on Sanguinius despite behaving like a typical Scion's of Dorn. I think if you wish to add credence or justification to their behaviour being different to your typical BA successor it might be worth exploring their home culture in a little more detail and how it impacted upon them over the millennia creating the cultural gulf between themselves and their brothers. One other thing to watch out for... One thing that I did notice is that your opening quote still reads Sigismund rather than Sanguinius

Index Astartes: Red Fangs v.01
Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to ToyShip's topic in + THE LIBER +
Nice solid start so far, and I really like the concept. I think for me the next things I'd like to see is their culture pre-penitence and during the penitence expanded upon, so we can see how they have changed in temperament and outlook. Also as much as you want to move away from noble Lion-Knights maybe you could use the title for the Honour Guard? That is probably personal opinion shining through more than any meaningful insight. Finally please tell me you are going to get the Trajann Valoris model, if for nothing else but to make use of the cool Lion pelt (which incidentally is a separate piece so no cutting required :P ) and Lion iconography for a character or two? https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Captain-general-Trajann-Valoris-2018 -

@Nineswords I would just like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this IA and the story I found both an inspiration to finally write my own IA, although also slightly intimidating :P -
Index Astartes: The Steel Harbingers(WIP)
Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to dudemanmcgee's topic in + THE LIBER +
First of all can I start by saying I really enjoy the core concept of your IA, but there is one thing that bothers me currently. With the above passage it seems a bit unclear to me when this chapter was founded, from the initial statements in the History and the relationship the Steel Harbingers have with their alleged parent chapter it would suggest this is set shortly after the Heresy during the Scouring. But with the references to Tau space it left me wondering whether the this was actually intended to be a later Founding post discovery and re-discovery of the Tau which featured in the first half of M39 with their crossing into the Damocles Gulf putting them around the 24th Founding, as the 23rd was at the latest early M38 and the 25th late M40. Either one is absolutely fine, and I suspect that you intend for them to be in the area before the emergence of the Tau and later conflicts with them ensued with their expansion but it would be worth making what you mean a little clearer, even if it meant to be shrouded in mystery :) As a slight side note, when reading this I got the sneaking suspicion that you were alluding to these Steel Harbingers actually being of Iron Warriors gene-stock and the descendants of the might Barabas Dantioch and his still loyal brothers, was that intentional? If so my hat goes off to you because it felt wonderfully subtle! -

Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to Lord_Caerolion's topic in + THE LIBER +
I really like your choice in colour for you inner circle purely because it evokes memories of the Heresy Era DA colour scheme which seems somewhat appropriate for an inner circle of those who know the truth from those dark days. I can see what you mean with the addition of the white but I personally would steer clear and keep the bulk of the armour black maybe with perhaps colour added through the robes or under armour to break up the models a bit. Plus it'll make sneaking around easier :P -
IA: Angels of Silence (WIP)
Archivist Thaddeus Kryptem replied to Lord_Caerolion's topic in + THE LIBER +
I really like this concept, and I think using a Nomad-predation pattern like the Corcharadons combined with Brother Lunkhead's suggestions on how they are founded and supplied as well as the tithes the Nomad-Predation pattern allows adequately answers the questions on supply and founding. Also as a slight aside I love the name of your inner circle the Sin Eaters. That is just f'ing cool! Now if we could see some heraldry/painted models and the heraldric distinctions between the two that would be smashing
