More 3D stuff is abound- I've been working on some definitely-positively-100%-not-termagants for printing. They're going to be poseable, with ball-sockets at the hips, waist, tail, neck and shoulders (all four of them) and plenty of alternate parts. So far I have the core body, legs and tails. The main arms should be compatible with the official gaunt kit parts (so you can put printed arms on plastic bodies and vice versa). All the parts so far in an exploded view- 5 pairs of legs and 4 tails, for a huge potential set of poses! I'm going for a slightly "legally distinct" look, partly to avoid GW having a fit and partly because when you have a machine that can make any 3D shape, you might as well be creative with it. The look is overall a bit more crustacean-y than the official models, especially the tails. I'm trying not to overdo the detail levels, as a lot of 3D printed minis tend to be rather overcomplex IMO and I want to avoid that. I'm also planning on a full complement of weapons and biomorphs for them, including some heavy/special weapons that aren't actually based on any official models, but hopefully should be cool. As soon as I've got the models done I'm intending to do some test prints. Which might be in a while as I still have mid-limbs, weapons and heads left to do at minimum...

Old time Forum Stalker from back in the Early days under Many different usernames over the last 19 years. Purchased a 3D printer almost 3 years ago and have done a few sci fi projects here and there. With a massive snowstorm crashing through Knoxville recently I took it upon myself to create a project that younger me only dreamed of owning. Quick disclosure this is an almost 90% 3d printed project using files found and purchased online, I will not be sharing files, artists or locations due to legal reasons, those artists have been personally thanked and credited on their own respective pages. So allow me to set the Scene, The Year is 2010, 5th edition is steamrolling along and my younger self is struggling to get a full army together with lack of any serious funding, time etc. fast forward to today, feeling like I've completely sold myself short on the capabilities of this purchase have set about creating a 5th edition space marine army that a younger me would have loved to own, It'll never see the table, It'll never be in any FLGS, it'll be a lovely addition to the shelf I just cleared to store it, So after tracking down a 5th Edition Space marine Codex I went about creating a 2500pt army. The Drake Legion, Pro Emperor Anti Imperium think of them as 41st Millennium Protestant's, Believing wholly in the God Emperor of mankind but detesting the existence of the Corrupt imperium, Liberating worlds from Chaos, Xenos and Imperium control in massive Crusades across the Galaxy ( this is obviously Pre Guilliman awaking since its based in the 2010 history so far) Test Marine 1: Test Marine 2: Test Pair Completed: With them 2 completed I was happy with color choices etc and set about jumping in the deep end and creating the Chapter Master:

AND NOW I PRESENT... 3D PRINTING So seeing as my post on the 3d printing got removed (too much of a sales post, so this tread will just be a wip and update tread), this is the new place for 3d printing, part creating, modelling idea sharing, and showing us (The GeekilyDo collective) your ideas for legion specific and BOTL specific armor, tanks (yes tanks!) and characters. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ So why this tread? Well, here is a tread were me and MikhaLeNoir will post our updates on this project. So what will this project be all about? We want to create the legion specific armor, shoulder pads, tanks and characters (inlcuding primarchs!). But we are gonna need some help with that! If we really want to create 3d models of warhammer models, we need details on information, details on every-tiny-freaking-thing. This counts for everything, we want this to be as perfect as possible. We might work outside of the BOTL verse too, but in this tread it will be mostly related or fully in character. So where did this all start? Well I have always been interested in 3d printing, and a month ago, the spending bug bit me. My money flew at the screen... This might all sound very unfamiliar to you guys... Ohhhhh yes, 20 microns layers! 0,02mm (for your information, that's one FIFTH of the thickness of a piece of paper)! This is the quality GW prints their masters at! So when we print the legion specific stuff... It will be prototype quality. So what will I do to make this even better? After Mikhal had a GREAT idea, he gave me an idea... A 3d scanner! Yes! This scanner will be bought around the same time as the Wanhao, making for a scanning of sculpts and 3d redesigning of models! So now let's make this post a little bit more warhammery.
