As I type its currently the 25th June. Yesterday at 9 in the morning, me and my oldest son took a trip to town and collected this: (the battleboards are just peeking out at the top there) I had hoped to get stuck in with building but family life had other ideas! So, late last night, I finally got to work. The hardest part was choosing what to build first: After some deliberation, I got to work on these two: It was sort of fitting that I started with the two leaders I guess. I had no issues with the build with either of the pair but there was a slight annoyance with the Terminator Captains head refusing to go on the peg, but I got it. The Prime went together flawlessly. I'll say that GW need to work out where they're putting their gates though, they could stand to take lessons from Bandai Namco in that regard. At any rate (and a surprising 30 minutes later) I had these ready for a priming: I know several people have commented on the Primes design, saying they'd prefer a more wings out approach but I quite like him like this. Makes him easier to store and transport! The Terminator Captain is nice enough but he'll be waiting a while before he gets paint on him. The Nids will be taking centre stage with the Call to Arms event! So for Day 1, I'm 1 sprue down, 11 more to go.... Hopefully I can get more done tonight. Keep hobbying!

Been a lore fan for a while, but I'm about to have more free time and disposable income so I decided to try my hand at designing a playable 2000-point 10e army. I experimented a bit with ChatGPT but decided I needed human help. I tend to like a methodical play style in strategy games, so I've been toying for a while with a siege warfare theme, and eventually came up with a Loyalist Iron Warriors schism that I dubbed the Adamant Repenters (story-wise, originally formed from defectors post-Isstvan V). I'm still new to the ruleset, but I can tell enough that I want to use the Ironstorm Spearhead detachment because armor and artillery. Hi all, I don't often venture out of the Blood Angels subforum, but I'm looking for help on painting my Sniper Scouts and that seemed more appropriate here. The official paint scheme for Scouts has always bothered me. Bright white pants for a bunch of dudes that are supposed to be under cover, never worked for me. I wanted to paint them more like Special Ops troops and go for a mostly black color scheme, but I don't think that will work as I still need some variance in colors so they stand out. I probably should have a bit of red in there as well so they tie back to the rest of my army. I was thinking of something like this: Anyway have any idea or has done something similar? Thanks!

As the title say I'm looking for suggestions on how to convert/kitbash/paint space marines or imperial guardsman to mark them out as being close allies to a Navigator house (or the Navis Nobilite as a group) and/or having worked alongside it/then for some time. Do people have any suggestions?

Which do you think would be best?

Which points values should you use when building your SM army? I notes there are significant differences between vaules in the new codex and the Munitorium field manual release a couple of weeks ago. Has there like been a communication from GW? Also, as I read it, is it possible to split a tacitcal squad into two unit and have each of them being bodyguard to two different leaders? I read it as such...

This is my first finished painting project since returning to 40k since the end of 7th edition, and my first time at Space Marines. There are for sure some rough edges and things I learned during the painting process since I started that should make future projects much smoother to paint and turn out much better. That said, I'm always open to constructive criticism and feed back. I only have the one picture right now, but will have more tonight including a close up of each mini. I need to get better with decal placement. They were drying to the gloss varnish I applied before applying decals before I had a chance to adjust their their placement. That said, the matte varnish seems to have gotten a good seal over everything. This is the whole squad. I don't have the 10th edition Space Marines rules, just the core rules, so I just built them with the weapons I think are cool. The barrels on the guns could stand to be drilled in future projects, and I need to learn to write on purity seals and scrolls. I grabbed as many of the flashy bits as I could when I was building so a lot of these guys are not going to be WYSIWYG compliant. I'm pretty sure I hear somewhere that there was a limit to how many dudes you can have without the basic bolter in 10th. Close up of the Sargent. I need to get a little more practice painting straight lines as you can see mainly on his banner and knee-pad. I also need to get some basing materials. I just used a couple of James Workshops' technical paints and a layer of thinned Snakebite Leather contrast to add some nice variances in color to the base. I'm not sure what happened on the bottom of the... loin-cloth? It looks faded and tattered. It wasn't like that before clear-coating. Then again, I used a 1.0 speed-paint for it, and I've run into the reactivation problem with those 1.0s multiple times. I'm thinking I'm going to... move those paints to reserve. The banner in general I'm disappointed with. I wanted to do a quartered design alternating red and yellow across the banner with a black border in place of a red one. I couldn't figure out how to get my lines to look good and got to the point where I just wanted to be done with that part so I fell back on a design I knew I could do. In retrospect, looking at the sloppiness of the red, I rushed it. I'm not sure if I got the grenades properly colored or not. I just did a metallic on them because I thought it looked good. However, I think they might should be a olive drab color thinking about how most IRL grenades look. You can also see, based on the black pauldron, that he's been detached to the Deathwatch before. I'm not sure where I read it anymore, but I recall reading that 3rd Company Sargents paint their helmet black instead of red. I like the look of that so I'm running with it for future 3rd company projects. Hopefully Dorn approves.

Howdy! After years of stalling, doing research, lurking, and general procrastination I have finally put brush to model and begun my first army. I have painted a bit on and off, and after a couple of abortive attempts I have finally settled on a scheme that looks good and is easy to replicate. Sure, they look like Blood Angels or Word Bearers, but I am happy with them thus far. This army will be my DIY Chapter, the Red Fangs. They are both in their final stages, they just need decals and weathering on their shoulder pads and finally basing. First, pictures, then a question/favor. The test guy, and first member of my first tactical squad, the picture represents the red well: The second guy, finished tonight: And the two together: The Images are shoddy at best, but not bad for smartphone pics. So I listened to Helsreach and one thing led to another... and here I am starting a new crusade! I really enjoyed painting this guy, which coincidentally was my first marine in all the time I've painted Warhammer! I think he came out okay, what do you reckon? I'm going to periodically update this thread with the progress of my Black Templars collection, that I aim to get in a good place by this time next year. I'm going to push myself to learn one new painting technique with each set. With this one, it was painting purity seals. I think they came out okay! I also can't resist a bit of headcannon, so enjoy! To some this may have felt like a minor detail, but to he whom had begun his time of service in the Yellow Armour of the Imperial Fists it meant everything. He was grateful that his superiors had agreed with him that his religious devotion was better suited to his brothers in The Black Templars, but whilst they were happy to part ways with him the reception was not the same amongst his new kin. Perhaps they hadn't yet realised that he too understood the unspoken driver of their continued quest across the stars? In a way, he felt that he articulated it better than they could precisely because he had come from another mighty chapter first. That outside perspective made him understand that these hallowed knights never lost sight of the glory and awe of the first great crusade. That they still lived it today, was beautiful. He sensed their quiet discomfort, that he had arrived seemingly untested but with the rank of command. The only thing that held them back from open challenge was theur shared forefather - Rogal Dorn. Had he hailed from any other chapter, it might have been different. Never the less, he was here, and soon he would make known his worth in the field of battle. Soon...

Old time Forum Stalker from back in the Early days under Many different usernames over the last 19 years. Purchased a 3D printer almost 3 years ago and have done a few sci fi projects here and there. With a massive snowstorm crashing through Knoxville recently I took it upon myself to create a project that younger me only dreamed of owning. Quick disclosure this is an almost 90% 3d printed project using files found and purchased online, I will not be sharing files, artists or locations due to legal reasons, those artists have been personally thanked and credited on their own respective pages. So allow me to set the Scene, The Year is 2010, 5th edition is steamrolling along and my younger self is struggling to get a full army together with lack of any serious funding, time etc. fast forward to today, feeling like I've completely sold myself short on the capabilities of this purchase have set about creating a 5th edition space marine army that a younger me would have loved to own, It'll never see the table, It'll never be in any FLGS, it'll be a lovely addition to the shelf I just cleared to store it, So after tracking down a 5th Edition Space marine Codex I went about creating a 2500pt army. Long time no see! Slowly getting back on the hobby horse. Was encoueaged by some friends to start posting again. I’ll slowly add pics of my various works over time here. first up, The Fractured! I’ve got a concept in mind of fleshing out chapters with little to no information. Both loyalist and traitors! First group will be the former chapter the Justicars, now the Fractured, who took part in the hopeless endeavor known as the abyssal crusade, and came out… worse for ware. for the lore buffs I’ll have more to come but for now just a tease! feedback, good or otherwise, is always welcome, thank you for your time!

Hello ladz, just sharing some WiP dev sheets for an upcoming game project. 16 bit game project. (orks are just size tests for now, clothes, animation and armour will be done next week (it actually is way more down the road now) The idea here is to make a small game level for test purposes. It'll de a beat em up/ shoot em up between orks and marines. Some dakka and slappy action, we will make it browser compatible and release it for fun for all the fans to get some old school gaming in 16 bit pixel art (with modern technology). don't worry about IP cuz we dont mean to make money out of it, this is just a project of love. stay tuned for updates. comments and criticism welcome
