So I listened to Helsreach and one thing led to another... and here I am starting a new crusade! I really enjoyed painting this guy, which coincidentally was my first marine in all the time I've painted Warhammer! I think he came out okay, what do you reckon? I'm going to periodically update this thread with the progress of my Black Templars collection, that I aim to get in a good place by this time next year. I'm going to push myself to learn one new painting technique with each set. With this one, it was painting purity seals. I think they came out okay! I also can't resist a bit of headcannon, so enjoy! Perhaps they hadn't yet realised that he too understood the unspoken driver of their continued quest across the stars? In a way, he felt that he articulated it better than they could precisely because he had come from another mighty chapter first. That outside perspective made him understand that these hallowed knights never lost sight of the glory and awe of the first great crusade. That they still lived it today, was beautiful. He sensed their quiet discomfort, that he had arrived seemingly untested but with the rank of command. The only thing that held them back from open challenge was theur shared forefather - Rogal Dorn. Had he hailed from any other chapter, it might have been different. Never the less, he was here, and soon he would make known his worth in the field of battle. Soon...

Good News! It's been tough in my brain trying to find a Space Marine army to play that fit all the criteria that I need: 1. Easy to find Shoulderpads and Emblems for vehicles. Decals or Plastic. 2. Ridiculously easy paint scheme. 3. A Chapter that exists in the official lore, even if it is super obscure. The Internet has heard my cries and granted me the following: The Knights of the Raven! Yep, a Raven Guard successor in shiny metal armor! The paint scheme seems to be. 1. Spray model with Leadbelcher 2. Add black details 3. Add leather details 4. Make them 3rd company with red kneepad 5. Wash with Nuln Oil What do you think?

As I type its currently the 25th June. Yesterday at 9 in the morning, me and my oldest son took a trip to town and collected this: (the battleboards are just peeking out at the top there) I had hoped to get stuck in with building but family life had other ideas! So, late last night, I finally got to work. The hardest part was choosing what to build first: After some deliberation, I got to work on these two: It was sort of fitting that I started with the two leaders I guess. I had no issues with the build with either of the pair but there was a slight annoyance with the Terminator Captains head refusing to go on the peg, but I got it. The Prime went together flawlessly. I'll say that GW need to work out where they're putting their gates though, they could stand to take lessons from Bandai Namco in that regard. At any rate (and a surprising 30 minutes later) I had these ready for a priming: I know several people have commented on the Primes design, saying they'd prefer a more wings out approach but I quite like him like this. Makes him easier to store and transport! The Terminator Captain is nice enough but he'll be waiting a while before he gets paint on him. The Nids will be taking centre stage with the Call to Arms event! So for Day 1, I'm 1 sprue down, 11 more to go.... Hopefully I can get more done tonight. Keep hobbying!

Been a lore fan for a while, but I'm about to have more free time and disposable income so I decided to try my hand at designing a playable 2000-point 10e army. I experimented a bit with ChatGPT but decided I needed human help. I tend to like a methodical play style in strategy games, so I've been toying for a while with a siege warfare theme, and eventually came up with a Loyalist Iron Warriors schism that I dubbed the Adamant Repenters (story-wise, originally formed from defectors post-Isstvan V). I'm still new to the ruleset, but I can tell enough that I want to use the Ironstorm Spearhead detachment because armor and artillery. Hi all, I don't often venture out of the Blood Angels subforum, but I'm looking for help on painting my Sniper Scouts and that seemed more appropriate here. The official paint scheme for Scouts has always bothered me. Bright white pants for a bunch of dudes that are supposed to be under cover, never worked for me. I wanted to paint them more like Special Ops troops and go for a mostly black color scheme, but I don't think that will work as I still need some variance in colors so they stand out. I probably should have a bit of red in there as well so they tie back to the rest of my army. I was thinking of something like this: Anyway have any idea or has done something similar? Thanks!

As the title say I'm looking for suggestions on how to convert/kitbash/paint space marines or imperial guardsman to mark them out as being close allies to a Navigator house (or the Navis Nobilite as a group) and/or having worked alongside it/then for some time. Do people have any suggestions?

Which do you think would be best?

Which points values should you use when building your SM army? I notes there are significant differences between vaules in the new codex and the Munitorium field manual release a couple of weeks ago. Has there like been a communication from GW? Also, as I read it, is it possible to split a tacitcal squad into two unit and have each of them being bodyguard to two different leaders? I read it as such...

So as previously mentioned in my other Thread, A friend very easily convinced me to make a 1000pt 10th edition army, with the upcoming release of the Dark Angles and my Love of the Ravenwing I set out to do something incredibly dumb, Will this army function competitively? No idea, Will it function at all? Heck if know, Will it make my friends face palm Harder that Picard? Absolutely!
