Think this guy would make an amazing Wulfen starting point, not sure on the Blood Bowl scale vs Primaris, but I'm tempted.

Hello fellow Wolflords, I recently watched a tactics video on Wulfen and Thunderwolf Cavalry (Anvil of War), and the guy was very much against taking Wulfen with just the Wulfen Claws. Which kind of got me thinking... What if he's wrong

Sorry if this is already posted out I didn't look too far through the pages for a specific load out. I've got a battle box with 5 Wulfen I can build and some bits with shields that look space wolfy came in that I ordered. Was curious if I should use them on Wulfen or are there better options for them? If shields aren't good to use on Wulfen who would they be better suited on? Got burned out painting black on my Deathwatch so figured I'd do some Space Wolf stuff to keep me motivated to build and paint. I currently don't play but I'm working on getting a decent army painted. Want to have at least a full table top quality painted army when I goto the hobby shops to learn how to play. I got the basics just think I'll learn faster watching and doing.

So I've been experimenting online with running Wulfen unarmed. Mostly because I have 15 old metal Wulfen that I can't bear to convert, the nostalgia is too strong. :D So I'm running them basic, in a 10 man squad, and my results are fascinating. List for reference: 1500pt MC Claw Lord, Jump Wolf Priest, Njall, Phobos RP 10 Wulfen 10 incursors, 2x5 TH Intercessors 6 Bolt Inceptors 2 Las Eliminators This is based around an infantry only board control list with a TON of Phobos units, so results may vary. But I've been very surprised at how good they are! It's based entirely on the SW litany of +1dmg against vehicles and monsters, but boy does it do work with the huge weight of attacks. The large squad eats board space up and is basically my Screen and Anti Screen rolled into one. Supported with the Belt of Russ and the Wolf Priest, they are a tough unit to counter. Defensively, the lack of 3++ hurts, but that 5+ FNP really screws with opponents who believe the unit "easy" to kill. Plasma and other 2dmg shots are particularly neutered hard by that. Stack other defense buffs, and they are much harder to shift than you think. The mere fact they don't carry weapons screws with target priorities alot, opponents have to over commit to kill them while viewing the squad as not as threatening. So if you're not a Mechanized fan like me, consider going cheap and plentiful with Wulfen. Anyone else have anything remotely like my experience?
