WIP scrap/scratch built Khorne Dreadnought

Recommended Posts

Well at first i wanted 22 boys to make a soccer team and 18 girls for a golf parc^^...

OMG thats like 30 years of producing and constantly popping out babies!!

But back to the OP, hope all goes well, for your dreadnought and wife.

Damn, i saw this and just thought wow...

although, why is everyone talking about babies and kids?? It does post the question, whats the best thing about twenty six year olds?

there's twenty of them

But good job keep it up! :)

Well, I am pleased to tell you that my dread has finally returned. It has suffered some slight damage, but nothing that can't be fixed. The most annoying part to fix will be the 'hip' section. Anyway, I have taken some pics of how it was returned.

The damage overall. As you can see, aside from the 'hip' section being damaged, one of the arms has come to pieces and one of the exhausts has broken off too.

And some close ups of the damage to the hip section:

I will get back to working on it once I get a few other things I am working on finished.

Cheers,

PLB.

 I think Brother Chaplain Darius was joking and really knows you meant you are making a dread.

I also think you skimmed over my post that has pics of the now returned dread.

Thanks for the congrats too.

Onisuzume, the Land Raider and mug have also been returned, intact.

As for repairing the dread, I actually plan to remove the legs from the body and replace the damaged section of the hip. I will also be looking at redong the legs asit will be easier to cut and reposition them once they have been removed from the main body.

Ouch! That's some bad damage to the hip but it's great to see it back in your hands again Baldric.

Now that we've got it back can I make a suggestion with the exhausts? Get rid of the length of the lascannon barrels. They look too much like the guns themselves. I'd suggest perhaps cutting them down a little or if you have any spares from a City of Death set try and use the exhausts from them.

Good to see it back again and I look forward to your painting.

Cambrius

PS: Did you get the Mr. Bump mug back?

Well, after 2 hours sitting in front of the dread, I have found it almost impossible to get motivated to do anything with it. All I have managed to do is start pulling it apart to remove the damaged pieces for replacing.

What I intend to do now, is work on my other CSM army and a few other little bits and pieces and come back to this at a lter stage.

Cheers,

PLB.

I can understand that. All motivation lost after that incident. We all wait with anticipation until it will be fixed up.

Do you have a linky for the other Chaos army you're working on?

I'll be returning my efforts to my Warp Reapers army. I haven't done much on it at all, but I do miss working on it. I have even decided to participate in the Call of Chaos MK II. Here is a pic of what is painted so far:

Hey

Im sorry to hear about the dread that was the most awe inspiring thing ive ever seen.It inspired me to start my own with a very very limited bitz box but ill have a go.Do you have any tips or hints??Im a noobie and ive never even built a regular dread before so any tips will be helpfull.

Thanks

The Red Dragon

G'day Red-Dragon,

I am glad you found my dread inspiring. The main reason I do these sorts of projects is to test my abilities and it is always a bonus when they are liked so much.

I found your thread and added some tips there. Feel free to PM me anytime for more help.

Cheers,

PLB.

looking at post #124 it looks awsome, it looks very proportional. I saw some say they don't like the saw arm but have u ever seen someone lose some appendages to a table saw much nastier when the saw is bigger.

Congrats on the birth of your child, so which chaos god does it (didn't see post saying gender) take after? Haveing 3 kids of my own u will eventually start going insane and the inquisition will be called in.

Thanks, glad you like the dread.

My newborn is a boy, so now I have 2 boys, Alexander is 2 and a half years and the Nicholas is 2 and a half weeks. They both worship the Chaos God known as Plaguelord Baldic :P :P

ever thought of fielding them in apocalyps?:P

you know imperator titan alexanderix and brass scorpion nicholasisis!

jk

good luck with the kids;)

Yep, but I have now got a red hand print on my face after my wife found out. :P

I had a look over the dread and have decided not to make any changes. The reason for this is that the entire structure of the dread seems to have been weakened from however it has been handled and I don't feel confident enough to make the changes without wrecking the whole thing.

I want to get 2-4 more chainswords, (like the ones pictured below), to try out an idea I have had for the second DCCW.
