capt.nuss
Hey, great project ! I really know what it means to create mini by mini, and can absolutely see your commitment and skills ! But allow me one question: Where did you get those Helmets !? :) Those are exactly what my ph projects would need ! Iron Corsair
I'm guessing the 'Honorable' unit is going to have older Marks of armor. Just my guess though. @Nuss: I believe those are Maxmini Steam Knight heads. kikkala
@wiplash Thanks mate :). @Simoleo-Brother marine You got that right :). @TAS You just wait after the adept has been finished :D. After IH and WB, maybe AM army could be possible, only time will tell. @Dragonkin Arenis Thanks mate, finally someone noticed the resemblance :). Yup, the head and torso belonged to my first IH captain (which you can see on first page). @capt.nuss Thank you, though my skills and commitment are nothing compared to yours :P. Iron Corsair already mentioned the helmets are indeed MaxMinis "Steam Knight Helmets", though I used a finnish retailer to purchase them. Here's a link for you. -->Link<--- @Iron Corsair Yup, older marks indeed :D. More progress. I'll be building the left arm from scratch, using the servo-arm from servitor kit as model. I blue-tacked the arm to show how, it'll look like. Paintscheme I've been wondering would be like this: -Red armour -Brown boots and gloves -Cream cape and hood -Dunno about pants... maybe black And I tested the cream color with good old Asmodai. The Angelus Sanctus
Looking very nice kik. I still think there is third army for you yet :P :tu: Out of pure curiousity, how did you make up the Adept anyway? Cadian plastics with GS and plasticard? Chaptermaster Graymantle
Wow, this army is absolutely stunning! Love your conversions and the colour scheme is just fantastically cool! Very well done indeed! Keep up the excellent work! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2067032 Share on other sites
Tyrannicide
That Asmodai model looks particularly cool. I've always loved that miniature, one of the beauties GW has produced over the years. kikkala
@TAS Thanks mate :P, you seem to be waiting for the moment when I'll crack up and start new army . Let's see what parts did I use... older editon night goblin torso and head (both were cut to smaller size), plastic scout legs (remember 2nd scout I made recently?), random marine arms (particularly shoulders), fantasy battle chaos warrior gloves and boots, and of course plasticard and green stuff :P. @Chaptermaster Graymantle Thanks for the praises mate :). @Darth Potato Thanks mate, shame that they didn't give him any rules in the most recent codex. Painting has begun, and left arm is 80% finished too. Firenze
Great Adept. Very clean paintjob. And welcome truly to the Mechanicus. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2069129 Share on other sites
Ferrus Manus
Very cool model, but I'm not so keen on the robes at the moment. Maybe line them in black in traditional cog style? Iron Corsair
Excellent job, Kik! Is the red on the armor the same as your Word Bearers's red? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2069297 Share on other sites
The Angelus Sanctus
Nice use of assorted parts Kik, a very simple kit-bash for a unique looking mini. Good to see you still remember how to paint red too :) And yes i am waiting for you to crack! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2069528 Share on other sites
kikkala
@Firenze Thanks mate :). @Ferrus Manus Thanks, the cog-style line is great idea :). @Iron Corsair Thanks, yup same red as with word bearers. @TAS Thanks mate, what kind of word bearer player would I be if I'd forgot how to paint their armour :P. Ok, not so much progress in last couple of days, I had two games, lost twice :P. Both were 1.5k matches, for the 1st match I had assault commander with me, and lost annihilation match only 4-3 killpoints, and for the second I traded captain for devastator squad in razorback. I got slaughtered, 6-1 killpoints, where I got the only killpoint by chasing squad of dire avenger off the table ;). Funniest fact is that my 2 Ironclads got most of the kills (5-6 avengers on first turn, but fire dragons destroyed dreads right after that), and second most kills got the drop pods :D:lol:. But I got lil' update after all. Aaand I started yet another side project, man I got tons of these... Honour Guard will come along with this. Yup, a truescale marine. After seeing Lamenters fantastic 'Artscale' marines for 1000th time, I finally got myself to start one :). The Angelus Sanctus
Great work ;) The Adept looks very nice, heck, it has even give me a few ideas (darn you!! B)) Looking forward to seeing the Honour Guard as they are slowly created, although i suspect they will be nothing short of amazing! kikkala
Haha, thanks TAS. It's good that I'm not only receiving ideas but giving them also . Oh, the honour guard will be decked out with ton of special equipment, making them way overpriced to be used on any of my games :D. Anyway, I'm slowly starting to get comfortable with this so called green stuff :P. Time to give myself endorsing pat on the shoulder. The Angelus Sanctus
That is some real smooth GS work there Kik  I assume since the model in question seems to be fully armored, you wont be having alot of bionic bits on the honor guard? larundel
I have looked through all 29 pages on this topic and i got to say i love your Iron hands (has inspired me to start doing my StormGhosts again) and i really love all the converstion work for the bionics, i thing i have said it twice now, but WOW, these loo amazing and the whole force together would win my vote anyday. keep up the good work. kikkala
@Iron Corsair Thanks mate, I'm glad for your praises :). @TAS Oh no no no, this truescale model is just another side project :P. Honour guard is just staring, with lots of bionics... @larundel Thanks mate, glad to be assistance :D. Now, I'm starting the honour guard, finally. :P This one will have mk. 3 armor. And I never realized how big truescale can be... Iron Corsair
 Great job! That Truescale is friggin' huge! @Iron CorsairThanks mate, I'm glad for your praises ^_^. The Angelus Sanctus
Man that TS marine i think just put even the average terminator sized mini to shame! However i stand relieved in that the Honour Guard will be loaded with Bionics in traditional IHs manner  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2074115 Share on other sites
Ashen-Shugar
Brilliant work so far. The marine in WiP mk3 armour is looking good already. I'm not getting this truescale craze just yet though... kikkala
@Iron Corsair Thanks mate :), I was surprised too how big it turned out :P. @TAS Maybe comparison pic with terminators could be in order ;). You surprised me, when you thought honour guard wouldn't full of bionics :D. @Ashen-Shugar Thanks mate :). Yup, I'm back. I went to Stockholm cruise and returned yesterday. So not huge update this time, some sculpting I managed to do before the cruise and some today. I wasn't happy with the original pose at all, and after 3rd rebuilding I managed to get acceptable pose. Some minor detailings done, cables on legs, leather tabard and finally got somewhere with the shoulder pads. And yes TAS, Truescale marine puts even the terminators to shame... average AND modified . The Angelus Sanctus
Fantastic work as always. Your skills have shot up leaps and bounds over the past few months+ :D The HG marine looks great. I assume with his tabbard you'll take the very 'Tech-marinie' look about it? Can't wait to see the rest of the squad form up :) The TS Marine is huge! What scheme will the TS marine be painted in? Keep up the great work as always :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2080106 Share on other sites
dark_claw
amazing work, i have an iron hands army myself and the bionics tutorial you have done is a great help to me thanks for showing how you have done yours. you have a pic of 2 dreads together one is converted from a chaos one could you show some pics of it up close as i think it looks cool ;) i have to say the paint sceme you use is great i might use some gold on mine now i have seen yours i tend to do just black with metal bionics, and weapons and white wings truley a great army Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2080286 Share on other sites
kikkala
@TAS Thanks mate :). I think that mk3 armor has lil' metal tabard, if I interpreted the references right. Truescale marine will be Lamenter, in honor of Lamenter. @dark_claw Glad to be assistance, I'll be taking some pics of wb dread later this evening. As I earlier mentioned that truescale marine will be from Lamenters chapter. After spraying basecoat and couple thin white coats, their legendary bad luck strikes yet again. Emperor preserve me... :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/125973-iron-hands-of-irony/page/29/#findComment-2080304 Share on other sites
