Invictus_BA
I think all the people saying the scouts should have knives and camo cloaks etc are forgeting one major thing. These are World Eaters! They couldn't be quiet if they tried! All they do is charge madly and chop enemies limb from limb. I don't think scouts actually act as scouts in the World Eaters. While i would argue this point just because as neophytes, they wouldnt have had all the pshycoimplants in thier heads or the time for them to work like regular world eaters. And there are plenty of ways to be a blood thirsty infiltraitor! synapse
sorry i meant in the measurements...so a standard GW marine is 25mm and synapse "truescale worldeaters" are....? a normal GW marine is 30mm. mine are 42mm bolt upright, or about 39mm in more, dynamic poses (where the legs are not dead straight) While i would argue this point just because as neophytes, they wouldnt have had all the pshycoimplants in thier heads or the time for them to work like regular world eaters. And there are plenty of ways to be a blood thirsty infiltraitor! keep in mind that mine are, fluff wise, veteran world eaters Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/130525-pre-heresy-truescale-worldeaters/page/8/#findComment-1555617 Share on other sites

brother Hastatus
Yeah, as I said, and Synapse confirmed, they are not new to the WE ideas, and so, are going to want to charge rather than sneaking around. Also, I doubt the WE themselves would set new neophytes a sneaky assignment, even if the neophytes are not blood-thirsty and rather insane themselves, as the WE wouldn't think of doing that. synapse
yeah those scouts are meant to be the equivalent of space wolf scouts - IE: accomplished marines, if not actually veterans. and i honestly dont see WE's using stealth very much, i just imagine these as more special troops with a more specialised role to that of your normal marine (one where wearing less armour and having smaller weapons is apparently good) also, ive got a pretty comprehensive WIP tutorial on the creation of the world eaters HERE. just thought some of you might be interested in seeing them. also, feel free to join the forum and post any of your own topics/questions/WIPs thanks! Alpha PTP
Well, the arms on the commission models are too short for my tastes. When the legs are finished it might change my opinion on the matter, though. By the way, when do we expect to see some paint on some models? You haven't painted anything since the first squad. :pinch: Great models. Cannot wait to see something finished. synapse
thats odd since i use the same arms on all models and sextend the legs by the same amont! well im kinda going off painting! it sems every model i do turns out worse than the last, and i havent painted regularly in many years, so id rather wait until im fully back on the saddle before i start painting the WE's... dont want to screw them up :pinch: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/130525-pre-heresy-truescale-worldeaters/page/8/#findComment-1578458 Share on other sites

Brother Plasticard
Also, that's exactly how I am doing my BT. Good work! which model would that be? As in what model I am making? Or basing it off of? Well, they will all be based off of termies, and I will be making 1 crusader squad and 1 termie squad like that. Currently there is no such project in my log, the bitz haven't arrived.... synapse
i meant which one of mine does it look like :) so here are some pics of the WIP on the Dread legs. i know it looks nothing like a dread yet... though it wont look like a current style- dread in the end so there! the thighs are pretty much done, apart from annoying fiddly GS filling in of gaps and perhaps adding a small shell to the front and outsides to cover them up. the shins are probably not even half done, and need severe bulking up on the inside of the leg + the addition of armour plates. for knee pads im using plastic marine dread shin guards (thats how big it is!),and the rest will be GS and plasticard, with an eye towards vaguely matching the plated design of the Dread im emulating (the one featured in all the HH artwork) Feet are probably half done and each foot will have 3 forward pointing toes and one backward pointing one that doesnt rech the ground (think of a bird or theropod) so far im really pleased with the shape of the legs, especially the huge piston on the back of the shins and all the gubbinzy bitz on the thigs and toes (the latter of which are only half done). one all the hardware is done ill be adding pipes and cabling. then work begins on the torso... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1269.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1268.jpg high/front view showing the thighs...................................right leg and foot details http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1267.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1265-1.jpg left leg and foot details...........................................................back view showing the gibbinz and more details on the feet. Terminatorinhell
i am liking the imperial fist, might i suggest that if the chests look too small trima terminator ches and glue it to a normal marine torso back ( of course you trim off termie collar) and the arms are actually very close to actual human scale so thats how it should be. synapse
well i tried a landspeeder, based on the old open topped bumperless one, but with current marine vehicle design (grrovy bitz, and sharp edges) but it didnt work out id love to make some jetbikes, but cant figure out how to make any to scale with my models (i love the master of the wavenwing design but ill have to scratchbuilod one for my models! jikes) maybea rhino or... for you old timers, a land raider spartan, again, like the land speederthe spartan would be based on the old shape but with current design... we'll see. UPDATE! ok the legs are mostly done on the marines... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1270.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1269-1.jpg pre heresy iron armour imperial fist. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1268-1.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1267-1.jpg pre heresy emperor's child, in snazzy bling bling armour (or at least it will be once its done ) the greaves are angled and have ridges running vertially down the middle of the plate and horizontally on the bottom. to match the pointuy design of the legs, ill be making the feet a bit pointy too, like archeons and saving the best for last... (i hope so at least) http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1265-2.jpghttp://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x15/voropohaiah/HPIM1266-1.jpg the grey knight, complete with writing on armour. Dorns Padawan
Woah synapse, these guys are getting better and better! Mind telling us how you sculpted the greaves on the EC model? Is it one piece that you have somehow sculpted into the raised pointy shape or is it a really thin added layer of GS that is worked in? The dread looks awesome so far! Cant wait to see more WIP pics!
