Tomevans
Wow, up close that Sammy looks even better than it did before. I agree with krewl, you are certainly one of the top 3 painters I have seen in this entire forum and an inspiration for me to knuckle down and get my models to look as good as yours. Great stuff. Master Toddius
Each new model continues to impress everyone including me. Beautifully done work, sir. Hashshashin
WoW! Great Job! I leave the forum for awhile and when I return you have created a characterful and awesome army.... How do you get your hazard stripes so grimmy, but also pop-y? Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149164-my-doublewing-dw-squad-finished/page/10/#findComment-2475147 Share on other sites
ValourousHeart
@ Van San, In one of your earlier posts you mentioned that you included a bit of the hazard marking (black/yellow strips) on every model. However I didn't see that on Sammie. Did you change that motif for him or is it simply obscured by the camera angle? Amazing paint job as usual, I am anxious to see further RW additions to your list. cowie165
Amazing technical skills aside, my favourite part is how you've managed to use both red and green without making them into "Christmas Marines" like you see so often. Well done, and thanks for the inspiration! VanSan
@all Thanks for your kind words! @ValourousHeart With the hazard markings you mention a good point. Its correct that I painted them on every model in the DW section, but on the RW models I am not too strict :D @Hashshashin Just read my dreadnought tutorial in the librarium, there I explain how I paint them. VanSan
My LS Storm. Hope the DA will get it in the next Dex because in my opinion it fits perfectly to the RW fluff. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/VanSan1/Deathwing/Ravenwing/RW1.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/VanSan1/Deathwing/Ravenwing/RW2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149164-my-doublewing-dw-squad-finished/page/10/#findComment-2482226 Share on other sites
Isiah
Excellent Storm. Too many nice details to type here. BTW you could use it now with opponents permission* - I mean looking like that how could they refuse :) ?? *small print: except tournies maybe. Shard
You're entire army seems to...breathe... It has a vibrancy and depth that is inspiring to lower level painters such as myself. Master Toddius
Very Studly, Vansan. That Storm is pure win. The ideas that spring forth from that model are inspiring and exciting. The army as a whole is just gorgeous. VanSan
because I have finished my master thesis these days I was able to paint another Scout squad and to make my Crushader convertible to a Redeemer because I need these two things for a tournament in two weeks. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/VanSan1/Redeemer.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/VanSan1/Scouts.jpg I always wanted to try out the Thunderfire Cannon, but in my opinion the GW model is much to expensive, i build two of them myself. My aim was it to have a bit modern look of the cannons. They are both wip and a lot of detailing work (rivets, cables, etc.) has to be done. What do you think of them? http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/VanSan1/Salvenkanone.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149164-my-doublewing-dw-squad-finished/page/10/#findComment-2488890 Share on other sites
Cpt. Bannockburn
Is there anything you are NOT awesome at? :) I especially love the scout heads. Really good work with the painting as well, it's always a pleasure to see your updates! Tanhausen
The WIP is looking very nice! How did you do the tracks? Also, I hope you didn't "break" 4 assault cannons per piece.... that would break my heart :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/149164-my-doublewing-dw-squad-finished/page/10/#findComment-2488909 Share on other sites
VanSan
The tracks from old Ork "Kettaz" (don`t know how they are called in English, actually i am not sure if its the correct name in German :P ) from Gorkamorka. Also, I hope you didn't "break" 4 assault cannons per piece.... that would break my heart Of course, who uses aussault cannons these days ;) ? Tomevans
Those look great Vansan, personally I would bring the weapon a tiny bit more towards the centre of the stand as the model looks a tad back heavy atm, although you have tried to rectify it with the stands at the back. Apart from that mini adjustment they really do look very nice. Gillyfish
Wow! The Thunderfire conversions are astounding! I really like the look of them - they remind me of hydra flak batteries, and they look very high tech with the screens at the back. I think they're really good. Can I also ask where the scout heads came from - they look very cool too!
