Today was my very first outing with Khârn. Unfortunately it was against the pointy-eared space pirates, the Dark Eldar. In the very first of their shooting phases, Khârn had his Land Raider shot out from under him and his retinue of 9 Berserkers. Not an auspicious start, but it got better when one of their Raiders swooped in to finish the job. Khârn and Company wrecked it, poor Khârn sustaining a wound from his overheated plasma pistol in the process, and then pounced on the crew as they abandoned ship. Khârn wiped out three Wyches before he was brought down by good dice from the squad leader and two abysmal saving dice rolls. His squad wiped out the rest of the pointy-eared gits, but were in turn taken from the field by more murderously accurate weapons fire.

So, Khârn 3 with zero Berserker kills, Dark Eldar one. Not as impressive by far as what some have posted, but I wasn't too upset with these results for his first outing. He'll see much more in upcoming weeks I'm quite sure.

Don't worry Khornewolf, the blood will flow. Khârn is a notoriously well known character, and his reputation proceeds him for a reason. He can tear through just about anything that so much as sneezes too close as anything that thinks itself safe in armor. I have had some amazing feats, but they are always followed by a dry run of at least 3 months as his weakness is exploited: shooting. I can't begin to tell you how many times that I have had to remove Khârn in the first shooting phase of a game due to fear. Sorta nice having a model inspire that much pants wetting emotion. I remember one game, after tearing a couple of Sentinels apart to get to the suishy goodness behind, Khârn was spectacularly vaporised from the game by a Baneblade and a Warhound Titan. That sort of fire power should have been directed into my sides forces, but having Khârn survive everything the Baneblade could throw and then forcing the Warhound to waste both of its turbo lasers on him is in itself awesome.

Crowe + a 10-man squad of Purifiers (after his Berzerker bodyguard was shot to shreds), followed by a Stormraven and some Terminators.

Unfortunately this means that he is now the single most dangerous model in my army and will be allocated firepower accordingly.

This past Saturday, Khârn killed a squad of 5 Blood Angel Terminators and the only one of his 'Zerkers that the Termies hadn't already killed.

The nice thing was, while my opponent was fixated on Khârn, he missed my squad of Termies with combi-meltas standing under his Storm Raven. The bird came crashing down, ruining his strategy of using the bird for last-turn contesting of an objective.

The Blood God will take indirect blood as readily as blood spilled directly in his name, right?

Checking up on this thread the other day made me include good old Khârn in the list I played Saturday evening, and it more than likely saved my bacon. My friend was playing a dual FOC list with 1000 points of Grey Knights and 1000 points of Dark Angels, and I was playing a straight 2000 points of CSM.

Khârn and his retinue of Chosen jumped out of a Land Raider and mugged Draigo, who had confidently walked over to the Land Raider alone to take them all on.

Then the gang ambled over and assaulted Inquisitor Coteaz and the remnants of his retinue of Crusaders and psykers, yanking them off of the objective they were holding and giving them a good kicking. Khârn took out two of the Chosen himself, and I lost another two Chosen before Coteaz went down, then used their consolidation move to stand on the same objective and dare anyone to come for it.

It was a hard fought game that went the full seven rounds, but I came out of it with two objectives to his one thanks to Khârn and his Chosen tearing through the Inquisition after my gunline of CSM thinned out the retinue with successive rounds of rapid firing.

Best Khârn kill i've had is when i was faceing my friend. Khârn had 1W left. lucious charged him, (he had not been injured at all)

Lucious miss all but one attack, i made the involve.

Khârn then hit on all his attacks (like he always does) and Lucious died. I havn't let my friend live it down ;)

Today, Khârn managed to score more kill points by himself than me and my opponent put together. He managed to kill all 3 of my opponents Troops, his HQ, and both my Troops for a total of 6 Kill Points. I managed 2 without him and my opponent got 3.

Final tally:

30 Imperial Guardsmen

1 Lord Comissar

11 Berzerkers
