I'm really good with the ADD (I don't really have it, I just multitask..a lot) and so I've been flipping through Index Astartes I-IV and also Insignum Astartes. And have decided to make my veterans actually have some veteran markings. I like what I've done with them, but I'm not sure if its enough or too much.

I'd like to add some crusade checkers, like if they worked in concert with Black Templars or Ultramarines or something like that.

I really like the fist on the sergeant's helmet, even though its white...

Your double pistols is perfectly legal... gamewise, I'd reccomend buying three Storm Shields for them, 45 points of 3++ never goes wrong, as I found out in a recent Apocalypse game, where they contested and held a very important objective due to four Storm Shields against Skarbrand and several Power Klaw wielding Orks.

 

You can either plunder them from the Terminator set or even convert bases to represent Storm Shields (I used square Warhammer ones for my own).

 

Thats why I did it ;) I knew it was legal, I just don't know how practical it is.

Though, these guys have the stormshields/thunderhammers.

Thanks Fallen Lion: Though, that is the GW sternguard model. I wish I could convert that well, but thats sick! hahaha. Thanks for the bone. After trying 3 times to do a Deathwing army. You master it. ;) (I haven't....)

Some Shoulderpad details and belt buckles for the next 4 squads (including the vanguard). More are in progress, though production is a slow 7 at a time. (why only 7, I do not know..) as each marine needs around 2...

I decided to do the details first in white, so any other color I decide to lay over it, will be much more opaque.

I've also started posting on Warseer, so we'll see how that turns out too. :lol:

Practical? It's technically no different from having a plasma pistol and a chainsword, aside from being able to choose whether to shoot one pistol or the other. How practical it is is up to you.

 

And, um, good bases :P Do you do most things by whim? What with the seven shoulderpads at a time and double pistols?

Haha, not practical at all. But they can't get bolters. oh well.

I do MANY things on whims. A lot of the time, instead of spending $50 on a box of terminators or something, I just go to 7-11 to buy some candy, to just satisfy my 'buying' fix. :) Many of the things I do are on a whim, you should check out my other thread. hahhahahaha.

WELL! My first day of freedom. And my FW bitz arrived...though they're the wrong pieces....I'll have to make due..

It looks alright. So I'm not worried at all. I just have to make sure to glue on the engine cover.

 

Lets see. I also got some ork bullet casing things. In little piles and streams for my heavy bolter guys. The ones on the bases will be placed correctly, I had to squeeze them in there for the picture.

And I got a butt-ton of tiny Terminator Crux's... supposedly 200 of them. Which is much more than I need, by a long shot. But just in case. :lol:

Why so many box magazines you say? Well, there are 22, and I have to outfit around 50 Sternguard with bolters, so I think that this gives a bit of variation I'd say.

 

And I've also finished assembly of my Lascannon squad. Put some greenstuff shoulderpad icons, some sand, and I can be ready to paint them!

Hey awesome! I really like the guy in the front, second from the left, stepping out from behind cover. Is there some kinda conversion on the legs there or what? I'd really like to make one myself.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything bigger for him to cower behind, I was kind of disappointed.

The legs are from the Devastator sprue, with the kneeling legs. I've had countless Marine legs that have been hacked to pieces, and I had a spare left leg, so I did this instead.

But what do you mean about repeat conversions? I try to come up with my own (lack of variety of bitz) since its more fun that way, though sometimes the outcome isn't 100% great.

That miniature bothers me every time I look at it, it may be his lack of backpack though... It's like everything was made overproportioned. That's simply my personal opinion, though, feel free to do with it as you will :D
