And for reference here was the first take I did on it.....

Do we remember this guy?http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l8/rider_in_black/dark%20materials%20miniatures/Horus%20Heresy%20Ultramarines/F380E349-C161-4B7A-AC75-3B13DA107A68-3926-000005FEDDD50589_zps14c32419.jpg

Well here I've hit a brick wall.....

So to break on through, what I'm looking for is someone to do a little bit of sculpting on commission. It should be a relatively simple and not overly time consuming job. I need someone who can do me a merger on the lion cloak - blending the lion head into a big lion skin cloak with the forelegs draped one in front and one behind the left chest/side of the model.

Anyone able to help, or know someone who could?

I've been loving the Fist man, so don't get me wrong when I say..... get back to the Ultramarines Legion! I'm still such a huge fan of the Centurion you made out of the CSM Champ, and I need a fix of Macraggian Blue.

Plus, it'd be cool if you made a vow for the ETL in May.....   ;)

I hear Word Bearers screaming in terror. Very cool!

Really? Might want to get your ears checked, brother. msn-wink.gif

This is some really exceptional work here, Rider. I love the paint job you did on your Imperial Fists, I can only imagine the absolute beauty that Ultramarine Praetor is going to look like when he's done.

Thanks noctus.

I really liked the way the Fists turned out. Unfortunately there won't be anymore as the client has gone elsewhere to get the rest done more quickly. C'est la vie.

So yes, 1kH, the Ultras will be coming to the fore again for a while.

Got the Chapter Master undercoated and the basic blue done. Usual method of dry brush up to UM blue then wash with Asurmen. Still to rehighlight the blue with a slightly darkened UM blue.

Highlight and prewash:

Washed and pre-rehighlight:

Also worked on the Deathwatch marine.

Swapped the little skull for the top off a GK staff for more of an Iron Halo look.

Undercoated then dry brushed the black up to pretty space wolf grey through blue-blacks. Then glazed over with several different colours to darken it back down and give it a kind of oil-sheen effect (which doesn't show very well in the pic...). Final rehighlights still to do to finish off the armour, then onto the head, then the rest.

Yeah I see that with the eye - that's what happens painting at ungodly o'clock (finished face around 1.30am)! I'll tidy up later, thanks for drawing my attention.

The buckle I might change the rim from blue to gold, but I'll be leaving the Ultima blue.

I think it would look nicer with the rim in gold, it will help define the middle area of the model a bit better and link it to the knees.

Late night hobby can produce some interesting results to be sure..
