I actually painted them probably about 2 years ago. Played with the black levels and highlights in photoshop (I took the pictures as a RAW file). Magic wanded the black areas, inverse it and select the light area, copy and paste into the master image. Found a picture of stars I like, a planet I like and a nebula which I then copy, pasted, erased, played with the opacity and repeat. I probably used the same picture of a nebula about 5 times in this picture. Mess around with the sizes of the ships and done. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

nurgling6688 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Share Posted December 11, 2013 Someone just asked me on CMoN about my Fire Hawks paint recipe and it reminded me that I had the same question posed on here. Well heres my answer: Â If I remember correctly it was a mix of Blazing Orange (just a bit), Tuskagor Fur and Dark Flesh I think. I may have added some red in there too at some point, and I think I did a subtle orange glaze at the end. The highlights were done by mixing in Bleached Bone.I shaded it with Dark Flesh and a Dark Flesh/Scorched Brown mix.Hope that helps.
