Thanks for posting the recipe, Brother Syth. I think I need to expand my range of golds. I wonder if the new ones cover any better?

Anyway, he looks great. Will there be any yellow/IF insignia on the shoulder pads?

Probably not, but I am thinking of doing some freehand on the cloak.

Been thinking that since the Imperial Fist symbol is round, thought it might symbolise Terra. Then have a wreath on the outside and then the Legion Symbol in the middle. Just something I'm thinking of.

Rogal Dorn is complete! My vow for the Imperial Fists Expansion I is complete with four days to spare!

In the end, did some freehand on the cloak for Dorn, adding a wreath and chapter symbol at the back, and a patten lining the inside. I'm particularly pleased with the small Fist on the inside.

As always any c&c is most welcome, and can I say again, I'm relieved to have finally finished? :)

Rogal Dorn.

Firstly, congratulations!

Some great work there and it's been fun (not to mention educational) watching you build and paint those models.

Dorn looks well 'ard. I love the freehand on both sides of the cloak (I think the white line could do with a bit of cleaning up behind him, but that's just a small thing). The little corner-fist, the big one on the back and the wreath are fantastic. I couldn't trust myself to try anything like that pattern after painting the cloak and getting the red that nice.

@Kierdale: Thanks! Really appreciate you following this from its inception. Still got another Huscarl to make, as well as an Imperial Fist Vulcan to finish off. Just having a cooling off period atm since I've painted so much recently! I will come back to these guys, and in the not too distant future I think. Got a whole squad of MK VI marines to paint, as well as another squad of MK IV and V marines to assemble. I'm thinking I need more troops for my Fists.

@the damned artificer: Cheers! Appreciate that! Love your stuff, and I know you'll do the Fists proud in the Heresy Tale of 2 gamers thread!

@War Angel: Well, when not using that list, they can double up as Vanguard veterans, with either storm shields or combat shields. A very expenive squad though, coming at 500pts. But then again, I did it for the cool factor, so that doesn't bother me too much.

Well, here below I have a new army pic, of all my Fists. I started posting here last year in October and have completed quite a few models since then, with many thanks going to the multiple painting challenges this forum has. So here is all my Fists as of today.

And just to put things into perspective, here is what I have painted since October; 2 Land Raiders, 2 Rhino's, 1 razorback, 1 dreadnought, 1 Ironclad, command squad with storm shields, 5 scouts with sniper rifles, 5 devastators, 5 assault terminators, 10 veteran boarding marines, 4 Huscarls in terminator armour, 3 land speeders, a librarian in power armour, cassius, a converted Sigismund and Rogal Dorn. Not too shabby for 9 months!

Now since the Imperial Fist Expansion I is finished, I can start doing something for the current painting challenge E Tenebrae Lux. I'm not going to go too big for this one, I'll just do little bits at a time, as the IFE I took a lot of effort to complete and I don't want to get burned out. Here below is what I'm painting curently. Its an Imperial Fist version of a Vulkan He'stan. I figure, he got the cloak as a gift from the legion/chapter, as the Fists gave them some Achilles Land Raiders. I had an old wip ohoto in the IMperial Fists discussion thread, but have changed the fist icons on the spear to be a lot smaller.

Haven't got too far into painting at this stage, as I'm just taking it easy for now. Any c&c most welcome.

Thanks for looking, and for all those that have kept track of this since its inception. Would never have painted as much as this were it not for you! Cheers!

@Battle-Brother Ludovic: Thanks! Glad I could convince you! There is always plenty of room on the Phalanx.

@Cyrox: Thanks! They are an impressive sight on the tabletop. I play very few games these days, but lately every game has been with a fully painted army, and I can't tell you how good that feels!

@BattleBrotherJohn: Cheers BattleBrotherJohn, appreciate the comment! Vulkan is coming along. I'm going to try something new with him that I haven't been brave enough to try on my Fists.

@War Angel: At a pretty rough calculation, they come quite close to 4000 points. Didn't realize I had that much!

@1000heathens: Thanks a bunch! Really love your work in all its forms! And yes, I love that captain. Looks rock hard, and was such a nice conversion. I do plan on repainting him at some stage though, to give him the OSL eye lenses and lightning on the sword. But that is a job for the future.

@almightyjesus55: Cheers man, glad you like!

@Kierdale: Thanks! I've unfortunately played very little games recently (due to the kids), only 3 since October. Of those three won 2 of them outright. The loss was against a newbie, so my game against them is a whole lot different.

Here I have an update on my "Vulkan". I really wanted to do power weapons with the added lightning, and I have tried in the past and failed horribly. This time I wanted to try again, as I really like the look of activated power weapons. I used this tutorial here for this one.

To be honest, I don't know if its good or not. I like some bits, but not all of it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

On another note, I wanted to get some ideas for the spear, where I have the Fists. At the moment they are black, so you don't see the detail. I'm not sure whether I should put white in the background on the image (ie fill the gaps) or inverse the colours, and have white fists. Undecided at this stage.

Anyways, on to the images.

I think the lightning effect on the blade is okay.

I do think a white background (filling the gaps, as you said) would help define the fists on the side of the spear.

That's a couple of brass Fist icons on the back of the left hand and on the belt, right? Those should look really good, what with the left shoulder pad being under his cape. And the cape doesn't look too out of place not on a Salamander, actually.
