Oh oh...I missed to see your work when I've posted it...and now...I can say

:D

my compliments for your termy, the elite of emperor are ready for defend holy Terra :)

I love the termy with the head of sicarius!!!

Bravo ;)

@Kierdale: Thanks! Was quite careful with the OSL effect as the angle of the helmet, meant it wouldn't be as pronounced as the MKIII marines.

@Biohazard: Cheers! I can't wait either, think they will look the part on the table top.

@the damned artificer: Thanks! Used a lot of parts to make these guys, and I've wanted to use those shields for something special.

@Dorns_fist: Thanks, that was the look I was going for :tu:

@interkino: Thanks for the kind words! Been wanting to use that head for something for sooooo long. Thought it looked regal enough for a Huscarl.

@Elspikeo: Cheers!

Well update wise, there really isn't one. This is the third week now I've been sick, so its really played havoc on my motivation to paint anything. Still I'm determined to try and finish my second Huscarl, which has been at the same stage for over a week now. Hopefully soon I can get a picture of the second WIP Huscarl. Cheers for looking and thanks for the kind words and motivation.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi all, still around. Finally got to stage where I can post a WIP pic of my Huscarl. This has been a long time coming, so am quite proud to have finally found the time to paint something again. A good change from being up all the time with sick kids. Hopefully this is the start of a new run to finish these guys off before the end of June deadline.

As always c&c most welcome.

Looks good!

Glad to hear you found some time to paint! ;)

Will you be putting an actual name/word on the shield's scroll? If so, what?

Oh, I just noticed the mesh-like bit sticking out of the side of the base. Looks good...urban rubble-like. What is it made from?

@Battle-Brother Ludovic: Thanks! Though I am sorry to hear you have given up on the Fists for the time being. I can understand however as It took me quite some time before I found a scheme I liked, and I ruined more than a few models to get there. I will patiently await your glorious return.

@Kierdale: Thanks Kierdale, and ashamedly it didn't click where that name came from when I painted him lol. Only now that you pointed it out do I realise. Ahh well

Well, had a productive week. As the deadline for the expansion closes, I painted the last two Huscarls at the same time. Something I don't normally like to do as I like to take my time, and painting in an assembly line, while faster, does become rather tedious and takes all the fun out of it for me. Anyways, since I was on such a good run, only had time to take a quick WIP pic and kept going. As it stands I only have Dorn himself to do now for the expansion and I'm hoping I can get him assembled with a decent base tonight.

Well, enough waffle, here are some pics.

As always and c&c most welcome.

On another note, I am planning on making another Huscarl after the expansion models are done, so I can use these guys legally. Probably either going for lightning claws or a big power mace and Lysander shield.

They look absolutely stunning :) I think my favourite one is probably Adalwulf.

I completely agree with you on the assembly line painting. It makes things more dull and it makes me more nervous than usual, weirdly.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Dorn done! :)

Ludovic

@Battle-Brother Ludovic: Thanks Ludovic, glad to have them finished.

Well here is a few shots of Dorn. I must admit, I'm a little worried about the height at this stage. The model itself, is only a little taller than a terminator at ground level, but I thought, since he is a primarch, why not stand in a heroic pose on top of some rocks. Seemed the logical place to stand when your a mortal demi god of war. I have a size comparison with one of the Huscarls, so would be interested in hearing your opinions. Its also a shame, that the cloak is blowing the wrong way, but there isn't much I can do about that unfortunately.

Anyway, on to the pics.

I'll go for gold, that's what he wears on the cover of the Primarchs so that's what I will go for. Not a great model, but not a terrible one either I think. Till I get the skills to do something epic, this one will do for now.

Totally agree, much better than Scibors attempt at least.

Well quick update. Got some paint on him. The armour I think for the most part is done. The cloak I'm still working on, and I'm also going to try some freehand on there, but not too sure what yet, so am open to suggestions. The cloak is very convoluted, so I think the freehand will be quite a challenge, but he is a primarch, so I gotta try.

There is a lot of gold there, so I'm not sure whether another wash in the recess might help or not, so any feedback would be appreciated.

Anyways enough waffle, here he is.

Rogal Dorn.

Niiicccee!!!!! The only thing that stands out to me s his boots, it may just be the pic, but it looks like the boots missed the last highlight, they're a bit darker than the rest of his gold.

Cheers,

Jono
