The Eagles Spire - Semper Fidelis Eagles Eternal

Recommended Posts

@Armond, of the models ive been working on? no. i dont have my paint with me so ive only been able to create for the last 5 months. by mid augest i should have some models painted up to at least half way. ive got a few pics of painted mini's i did a few years back that ill post up at some point.

@bane of angles, thanks, i like him too. i might just do that, sounds like a good idea. i think i might do it with GS though, again i didnt bring any plasticard with me.

@cyrox, thanks, now im thinking maybe i should do that with the other termies. feel free to use it youreself.

the heavy gunner was photo shy (fell off the gatorade bottle and broke at the waist) so instead, here is a picture of an assault on black reach terminator that i did awhile back.

incase youre wondering how i managed to not have any cuts on my fingers, my wife took the photo and emailed it to me upon my request.

and because youve all asked for some painted models, heres a dreadnaught i finished back in.... well i dont remember right now, but i painted a serial number on the top of his body that has the date hidden in it, so ill just look at that next month and ill have an answer.

and finaly, heres a few shots ov everything i have painted for this chapter. i took these photos 2 years ago this tuesday... not alot of progress in those two years sadly.

i have some sad news. once again i have had a mishap while priming my models. the tactical squad and terminators are now in need of having there primer removed, i managed to get the chaptermaster to a state that im content with, though his backpack is in the same lot as the rest of the bunch. rescue operations are underway, but to be honest, im not sure they'll make it. mainly due to the fact that its tiresome work and its energy id rather be spending on making/painting models.

im not sure what it is that ive been doing wrong. ive used other primers and ive tried it on differnt weather conditions. i think my idea of "nice day to prime" is a bit misguided. ill have to try priming indoors next time.

First off OOORAH! secondly for your Techies I would suggest using the coloring found in some of the ceremonial uniforms worn by the marine corps band...... Just hear me out

1. they are red.

2. the band makes music, Tech marines make the sweet music of war

3. it will tie in with your theme.

UPDATE TIME!

ive put a good bit of paint on the chapter master. ive got the blue on, its not shadded at all though so its still wip. where ive done the gold its done. i owe thanks to a tutorial that i can no longer find, which means the next batch of gold i try is going to be slightly differnt. the white is done, and im some what happy with it. i really dont think it can be done any better really, but the pictures really dont do it justice in my oppinion. with out further delay, here they are.

from the front

a differnt kind of lighting

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn74/Lastdogdead/136.jpg

the legs. you can kind of see the shadow on it. in hindsite maybe i should do more shadowing so that i can have a better highlight? its really hard (impossible) to highlight white... you have to darken the shadows.

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn74/Lastdogdead/137.jpg

heres the sword. i think ive gone too far with the effect i was doing and now its not as good as it once was. thoughts?

thanks for viewing, im sorry the shoulders and head are not done, i had to strip the primer. i did some paint on primer last night so ill see how that works for it in a few minutes. the back back still hasent been striped.

two things i would like some thoughts on. the casing portion of the bolter, i feel like black is just too empty, what do you think on this? secondly, if anyone has a suggestion on how to go about highlight the blue of the armor i would be greatly appreciate.

one thing i havent done yet is the scabbard, i think ill be painting it a red. my other option is to paint it the same blue color and just keep it the same... both good options i think, just a tough decision.

thanks again for viewing.

and the remaining shoulder pad, i cant help but feel that the letters are too much color, and give it a cartoonish feel. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn74/Lastdogdead/024-2.jpg

this has been really fun to do, and i cant wait till its finished. he's soo close to compleetion. i just have to make a base for him. im open for suggestions on what to put on his base.

im hopping to have him done before i have to take my wife out for her birthday this weekend.

Lias Issodon is the Raptors Chapter Master from Imperial Armour 9 Badab War Pt 1. Hes dirt cheap think chapter master cost plus the power weapon. Hes Bolt Pistol, Power Weapon, AND a unique Bolter named "Malice" which uses the Sternguard Ammo and is Range 30" S4 AP5 Assault 2/Heavy 4. Chapter Tactics gives Stealth and has a couple other interesting abilities.

*edit* oh and he's BS 6

He looks great, I'd suggest you to use a light bluish grey and shade the lines on his white armoured legs as that would give them a bit more definition, and try the purity seals again and if you're not that steady with a brush then find a very thin marker, 0.2mm should d the trick, and then draw the text lines with that instead, let it dry and spray varnish afterwards :)

Other than that he looks really cool :P
