The poxwalkers and Traitor tanks look great loving the work on the Blastmaster marine as well. I'm a big fan of the eyeless look

Who needs eyes when you can sing?

Ms. Charlotte is looking quite trippy , sir. Well done.

Thanks gang!

I'm chipping through the backlog.  With a complicated painting project like Charlotte, I kind of got burned out and then just- literally- put her in a drawer to keep her safe from cats etc. It really is neat to look at her after not touching the model in so long.   She should be finished in the next couple days.

I always have a building project going while I paint, just in case I need a break or have to let washes dry, since I use a lot of those.  I acquired this guy with a bunch of free minis a friend was getting rid of. His brother put it together and, well... to be kind...he was no model builder. Many seams to be filled and lots of repair work, model building 101 kind of stuff. Then I started to Nurgle him up, hide ugly parts with greenstuff , etc.   So here's where I'm at...

"We need to...uh.. soften him up a bit for the plush merch here guys."
"Wai---what?!?!"

"The plush merch!?!? Duh. How can you sell little Annie a spikey green one eyed monster. It has to be soft , round and smoo.... BLAM!"

"Obviously, he was sent here by the Empereor's Chil;dren"

"Actually boss, I think he was talking about stuffed toy animals"

"Uh...... oh. Hmm. Well.... back to work then, everyone. Back to work."

What gun you planning on giving it, given that the meltagun barrels have been sawed off?

Nice to see the one-eye works... that was my plan for when I do my next box-set hellbrute.

And the nurglesing looks good. :smile.:

Leaning toward autocannons. Still lots to do on him. I may do something with the fist arm too. Maybe a scourge.

The Call of Chaos ringing in my ears, I've finished the first unit for my challenge.  All based off Dark Imperium minis, here are 7 plaguemarines of The Corroded, part of the Unyielding Eye of DOOooom.  First up, the champion, converted from the Plaguecaster.

My blightlauncher guy

The charger...with the coolest helmet in the set.

And the rest...

6 Noise Marines are in the work as well as more work on Charlotte. The real world has been a bit of a witch the last week or so, but I finally have 3 days off so I can make a big dent in the challenge and finish up Ms. Charlotte.  More on that in a couple days.

Cheers Ya'll!

Aww man seeing your DI Plague Marines with headswaps they look so good - wish I hadn't glued mine together as the standard versions now :( only thing I am going to change is the head on the Plaguecaster (really not a fan of it) I may remove the plague cloud too and just use an outstretched force push hand :P

Great work as always Red! the powerfist arm on the champ is epic and the head on that charger :ohmy.: Really liking this squad thus far. forgot to mention that blightlauncher ... keep up the great work mate :smile.:

Thanks mate! Going a bit different with the paint scheme on these guys too.  Verdigrised Bronze and rust with some highlight colors.  Its too bad there is such a scale differnce with the normal marines. I'm going to try to fight the urge to buy a bunch of these new guys. Since I don't really play much anymore the wife is in the "don't buy anymore" camp, unless I sell some of the stuff I have.   Which is likely to happen.  I mean....who can fight the will of Chaos, right?

Normally, if you say something is an abomination on a Nurgle mini its a good thing, but in this case, the face and cloud in the hands of the plaguecaster are just that. As great as that set is , especially for a starter, those are the worst two elements in it. He could have looked really nasty with a skeletal head and an gnarly outstretched hand. Too bad its his right, the left hand from one of the cult champions in the last starter would have been great on there!

The Corroded look great and I am excited your Noise Marines!

What face did you use on the plaguecaster?

Its from the AoS Blight Knights kit. And I shall call him Skeletor.

*Applausing and much rejoicing"

Thanks for that! I like the guy but the puffed cheeks blowing disease dust kinda rubs me the wrong way.

Also, looking back at your helbrute, what did you use for the "eye"? I want to repose a daemon engine and need some ball joints I can pin for repositioning and that thing looks good.

I found some half beads at the craft store, but any round bead would do.

The Hellbrute is rehabbed and built for The Call of Chaos Challenge. He reeeeeeally likes shooting stuff!

I also knocked out a quick and easy conversion on the Noxious Blightbringer

AND...  "Why so serious?"  the PoxJoker is ready for paint.

I'll have to keep an eye out then for beads next time I hit a hobby lobby or something.

The poxjoker and blight bringer are looking good! However, that helbrute is insane! the gun arm, the tentacle flail arm, and that open maw with lapping tongue is out of this world!

Thanks guys!  The Hellbrute made me laugh more than once while I was sculpting him. I have the image of him being a little too excited, friendly and overbearing. Kind of like a slightly smarter Beast of Nurgle ..... but with a rotary autocannon and flail that can give a tank a colonoscopy.

The deadline for Call of Chaos is messing with my painting schedule. Even though there are only 6 of them, the idea I have for the Faceless is becoming a bit more work than I had originally intended. The result should be someplace on the beautiful but horrifying side, which is where I want them.  As always, the deamon.... is in the details.

As fro Charlotte, I have been picking at her carapace, but lots of undercoating and unexciting things.  Aside from a couple details, like the mouth, the only thing that remains is finishing up the carapace and the underside of the wings.  Well, then there's the base..... but that's a whole other thing.

That hellbrute looks epic, you're defo one of the masters of GS on here. I like the conversion on the Blightbringer is great, personally I'm not keen on that bell, just think its to big for the model. But thats just me. Really like the pox walker too, great work all round!!

Mike Wazowski! You snuck him through the wrong door!

An update on the Call of Chaos stuff. The paint scheme for "The Corroded" will be different from the rust+green of the Templars of DOOooom. Going with rust and verdigris/bronze for the main colors. Haven't settled on a highlight color for cloth and such yet, but possibly a green to tie in to the Templars scheme.  Anyways, here's some of the guys with basic color blocked in.

As for the hellbrute, he's getting the same treatment. But then I started work on the fleshy areas and I know I'll be doing considerable touch up before I can get to the metals.  I've got the basic color in and a couple washes. Very pleased with the detail from the sculpting and the filling/fixing. This model was horribly put together with Gorilla Glue or something, but its definitely got  a new lease on life now.  Albeit, kind of an icky one. ;)
