More of a This Month In The Hobby, but I've been trying to get the marine side of the combat patrol together.  I've chosen to do a kind of "Armies of Armageddon" thing.  Some units, like the landspeeder, I intend to use in my Space Wolves and so will wear Space Wolf colors.  However, other models I'd rather keep separate, like the captain, the vanguard vets, librarian, etc.  For some hobby fun and variety, I chose to paint them as separate chapters, and within the combat patrol I've decided to honor my friends and their armies (whether past or current).  Blood Angels Vanguard Vets, a Lamenters Librarian, a Black Templar Captain, and Ultramarines Intercessors.

Still very WIP, working on getting base colors down before a marine juice wash and then layering up.  Holding off on cleaning up little oopsies till later on, so I can clean up all at once before the wash goes on.  But overall I'm quite happy with how it's going.

I cleaned up all five of the storm bolters. I noticed a similar problem with the incinerator, thinking of cleaning the nozzles and the lighter part of it too.

They are a bit shiny and out of focus because of the plastic cement. The one on the bottom is the roughest, luckily I only need four of them.

I also thought about the Psilencer and it's the only Grey Knights weapon I dislike. I think it looks too silly and big barrels don't really match how it is described in the Codex. I sketched up an idea on how to fix it with existing bits (Solar Auxilia vehicle multilaser) or with plastic tubing.

Today in the hobby, I furthered my painting of Fabius Bile. That's the old metal miniature from 1996 (OMG, I was still in high school when he came out), with a more modern twist. He's also my first pledge in the painting challenge:

Finally, I can take this box as evidence with me and show my folks and an ex-girlfriend that Warhammer isnt for kids!

Today in the hobby I repaired the Baneblade that got destroyed by the imperator titan that was my Dad tidying my models into the loft 10 years ago when I moved out, assembled a bit of the storm talon conversion I started at the same time and built the Xiphon I got printed last week.
(yes I may have a problem with tanks and stuff…maybe I should collect T’au)
And…I didn’t cut myself today!

that face is great

Finished my first Command for my World Eaters for 30k. Going to use this dude as a Centurion or as a Champion.

It was a first attaching chains, and attempting blood splatter effects. Doing the blood splatter was way more stressful than the weathering. I didn't want it to be too much, just enough to show he has been in the thick of it, and kept it from his back to show he has just been advancing forward like a proper World Eater, World Eater :cuss:.

What color blue is that on his shoulders?

To get that blue, I used Wraith Bone as a base. Asuramen Blue Contrast on the parts that would be blue. Followed by a 1.1 Vallejo Magic Blue 72.021 and Lahmian Medium.

I couldn't sit still after seeing how bad the Incinerator nozzle and pilot light cabling were. I had to sort it out and make it look more like the metal one. I replaced the pilot light "hose" with a ribbed tube and I separated the nozzles from the pilot light assembly.

Starting building my Space marine army.

Haven't built a marine army since 5th Edition. So I have no clue what I'm doing, or what Chapter they'll end up as. But it will have at least 3 Eradicators with Melta Rifles, 3 Bladeguard Veterans,  a Chaplain,  a Judicar, and a Bladeguard Ancient.

YITHI realized I had left a piece off my Chaos Dreadnought's conversion beamer, so I had to attach that and will now need to apply a bit more black primer. Whoopsie-doodle!

I also started building a plastic Leviathan Dreadnought, which I'm converting to counts-as a Brutalis. This will (probably) be for my other homegrown Space Marine Chapter, the Tarantulas, who are consummate Tyranid killers, and will be given some appropriate trophies.

The multi-meltas are from Horus Heresy vehicle sprues, whilst the assault cannon shoulder-gun (which will be subbing for the ludicrous stubber turret of the actual model) is from the Land Speeder Vengeance, mounted on a Horus Heresy searchlight mount and, of all things, a modified Rohan shield. Not sure if I'll build him with the talon or fist options; if the latter I'll need to give him some underslung bolters and some less sharp-looking fingers!

Also in frame is another of my counts-as Infernus Marines (made from printed parts and the old FW heavy flamer), two metal Scouts (I actually intend to use oldscale scouts in my armies as, being teenagers and not fully-fledged Astartes, it makes sense to me that they'd be shorter than a "complete" Marine- plus they're just really nice sculpts) and a 100% printed Assault Marine with a shotgun (just for fun, Marines with shotguns are cool).

Double post!

TITHI made more work on the Dreadnought, drilled out the barrels and majorly upgraded the anti-air gun. Spliced together all sorts of bitz, gubbinz and greeblez (and some copper wire) and eventually I was left with this!

Today, I thought GW had finally lost its mind...

I'm sorry, is that a single miniature pulled from the old Custodian Guard box set and sold for $65.00 as a "Shield Captain?"

Thankfully, when you click on it, it describes the Shield Captain... and his 4 buddies that just happen to come in the same box as a bonus.

Ugh.

Is it better that there is children's products or adult toys in that box?
