I’ve actually been trying to do a magnet and pin for exactly that reason - bits falling off or moving too much, but aren’t necessarily large enough for a bigger magnet, plus it helps keep the bits in place on the model. I just use small sections of paperclip - that seems to be enough to help stabilize things.

Today was a good one- overcome my fear of finecast; cleaned and assembled 4 Death Cult Assassins and 3 Arcoflagellants.

Also, two plastic sisters fully built, three moe just need heads. One plastic arco.

I'm not looking forward to figuring out the varnish question on the models I'm using contrast paints on because that stuff is fragile as tortilla chips.

After a fair bit of trial and error over the years, I have settled on Halfords satin lacquer for protection followed by a top off with Testors Dullcote. Perfect flat finish every time (see below).

Curious why the double seal? I use Dullcote to finish my models as well, does the satin just give you extra protection or have you seen it provide benefits to the overall finish?

TITH I accepted my hobby resolutions have gone completely out of the window. The original plan was to do a "Primaldus" and then one squad of Argent Shroud to accompany him, with the main focus of this year being AdMech and a Knight.

Instead, I've got so into the Sisters (and done a custom order) that they're growing into at least a 1000pts force, and I've got a burning urge to revisit my Templars again after I finish the SoBs, so it looks like the Knight and Skitarii have been punted into next year.

YITH I got my craft on and rediscovered papier mache. Haven't done any since I was a child. Used it to create a hill for a flying base. Also got my 2yo involved to help create a piece of terrain.

May have got giddy with the new/old discovery as I promptly ordered 10 litres of PVA glue for future projects

TITH I got 30 miniatures painted...just not for 40k. It's amazing how refreshing it is to turn to something else for a change of pace and I'm steaming through the units production line style. I'll have an army completed by the end of the week at this rate. :D

TITH, I got together a coherent hobby box; this hobby box is only mildly subject to change, and one metal Inquisitor will be added to it within a week or two. Once I'm finished with that box... I'm done, at least for a while, with buying models. Once every model in that box is completed, I'm done buying models for a while.

Edit: So. Um. This is a thing.

TITH I am getting frustrated with image hosting. By default my phone (Samsung S9) takes images too large to upload to the B&C galleries but can't seem to find an option to reduce the image size on my phone or in the gallery (mobile version and full version but on a mobile).

None of the sites I've checked out seem to be decent either, can't find one with a convenient way to share an image like I used to have with photobucket before they went off the rails.

Edit:

I don't really have a PC to do stuff off so really needs to be mobile compatible at the moment.

If you use imgur to upload pictures you can just use the "Large Thumbnail" or "Medium Thumbnail" links instead of the original size. That's what I'm doing. Less bothersome than manually resizing and checking every picture. ;)

Panzer, I was struggling to find the options for thumbnail links so had to google. Here goes a test with my recent score.

Edit: fail, but that's the only link I seem to be able to pull off the imgur app and finding your way round the website on a mobile is impossible.

See if you can force desktop mode - the website works reasonably well on my phone that way.

TITH I started assembling a chaos knight and sprayed the legs and body in leadbelcher spray. I’ve never built a model so big and am enjoying it. Just waiting on greenstuff world colour shift paints to turn up so I can get the rest built and painted. Then I’m moving on to my Starweaver for the Lockdown painting challenge.

Nice! What colour have you decided upon? I have done the same with my Knight, I picked Red Goblin and Evil Forest for mine. It looks pretty good across the curved carapace of a Knight. I can imagine the blue/green colourshifts would look fantastic.

Not sure yet mate but I bought all 3 colour shift boxes so I’ll have all the paints to decide on. I’m thinking of either a purple or red one with whatever colours they shift with.
