TITH I painted more diamonds. Many many diamonds. I have nearly finished another player and a troupe master, but didn't have it I'm me to highlight said diamonds. Instead I applied a watered down coat if paint onto my first ever zenithal base coated Marine. Looks good IMO!

TITH, I... did more work setting up Tabletop Simulator for 40k play. I've got a good map, a bunch of army lists and a bunch of army packs if I ever wanna change it up. I couldn't actually find some of the armies I play in the real world in a huge army pack, unfortunately.

So I've been in a bit of hobby paralysis, and got inspired to dig some stuff out of storage which lead to me digging out most of my 3rd edition army (these are the ones who don't need reassembly right now):

So yeah, I was not good at painting in 2004. Like not even half competently. :teehee:

So I tossed together an old Marine bike kit I had and I'll be painting him up with black and bone and see if I can do young me some justice by doing a better job.

And I have to say I kept finding a lot of Black Templar stuff. Huh.

Keep one of the old ones around as-is, rather than repainting. At least one. Just to save it and compare later down the line. I regret not saving at least one or two of my old Crimson Knights.

I agree entirely. I have a few of my surviving Blood Angels around and It's nice to see the progress I've made over the years. It's also nice to be able to show other people. I wasn't born a decent painter, it took practice. Being able to show people your starting point can be helpful sometimes if they doubt their own skills.

That's the plan, though I may repaiint the Terminator since he's just primer and some decals.

A little bit more work on my second Knight today.

I'm a bit worried the metallic red tilting plate is overpowering the colourshift on the carapace and the model's head. Does anyone have any ideas to fix the issue?

I'd suggest using the dark gold you used on the head instead of white, that will tone the contrast down.

YITH: worked more on my gargoyles before being distracted by PSO2. Tonight is group painting so should get these buggers done... hopefully.

Idea for your color shift issue. Use heavily thinned pure silver - should stay nice and transparent while still giving a highlight.

After discussing it on social media the general consensus was to leave it as it’s a nightmare so that’s what I’m gonna do :biggrin.:

Yeah, I'm going to leave my colourshift knights without highlights in those areas. I just don't want to risk it going wrong since it's so difficult to paint over mistakes with these thin colourshift paints.

Speaking of which, my Knights are turning out pretty well. I just need to sort out the decals then I can move on to weathering them.

TITH I made progress on my Reivers.  At this rate I'll have an army painted by 2025!  I also bought some cloaks from Anvil for my IG Stormtroopers; Van Saar gang with some old Elysian heads I have knocking around and various bits to create webbing, etc.  Going for a Stillsuit feel (desert planet), but more camouflage and armour.

TITH I finished my Repentia (including lots of blood spatter) - pretty photos to be taken tomorrow.

Only natural to use lots of blood spatter. There's a lot of parallels between the servants of the Dark Gods and the Imperial Cult.
Definitely... not at all like they've been helping fuel their own downfall for almost 10K years.

TITHI finally got some of my Sector Mechanicus terrain (besides a single furnace previously assembled and paint work begun) put together, and will be on as much of a terrain construction spree as I can be before getting bored and getting back to painting my Lockdown Challenge mini (and eventually a Riptide).
