Gotta love Beakiez! Da best Marines!!

I just picked these up for some "Kill Teams" to face off against my Orks in Shadow War Armageddon. Great game for playing at home and introducing new buddies.  And some good break from painting Orcs & Goblins and Orks..

TITH I grabbed an ooP GSC patrol box from an internet retailer. And, as the FLGS where I initially ordered 1 month ago will not be able to deliver, I will instead get a AdMech patrol box as a swap.

And as 2 never comes without 3, I added a Drukhari Patrol too. Before it turns out unavailable for months and then vanish before being replaced by a new one. Deep striking Raider and Ravager for my Ynnari force are an appealing idea...

I just hope Ynnari will still be a thing in close future...

TITH the chassis of the dune crawler I'd insufficiently blu-tacked to the top of a paint bottle fell off and hit the small metal dish of streaking grime I was slapping all over it, catapulting the grimy, smelly enamel paint across my palette, desk, mouse mat and keyboard.

There will not be much more hobby today.....

Tith I recieved 10 metal sm scouts I managed to get on the web for 30 euro's.

Wasn't a bad deal.

Now to get them painted.

Which ones?? I think I love them all! Used to have, I think all RT ones.. Plus the Tyranid Attack ones. But the 2nd Ed (and 3rd Ed reinforcements) by Jes Goodwin are my favs.. So nice sculpts.

Don´t like the first plastic ones, at all.. But the current Kill Team ones seems to be nice versions inspired by jes work?

Always nice picking up those old ones though. The only model i had left for a bit, was a single Blood Angel Scout with a shotgun (the running one).....

@Brother Carpenter I have fond memories of those metal Scouts. I thought they were ugly as heck but darn cool. In my first ever game if 40k way back (I think 4th edition) I charged a Carnifex with those Scouts.

@Wolf Lord Duregar The new plastic ones from Kill Team are fantastic and well worth doing. I find they have a lot of personality to them and are all really well poses. You also get a fair few options in the kit (by modern GW standards).

@Brother Captain Arkley Looks nice. I've always loved Land Raiders. In a way some might even call unnatural. Did it take a lot of resin, the LR is a considerable beast.

@Sergeant Centurion Funny good or funny bad? I'd be keen to get more insight from you as I'm planning on getting a few Deredeo's myself.

Well my resin is about £30 a kg, was just over 1/3rd of a bottle so about £12, with all the options so.

Today I got two Devastator Squads painted and based. My painting is quite poor but I'm personally quite chuffed with them and I enjoyed doing it.

You never need to excuse yourself. :) As long as you paint, you will improve, and you DO paint. I did not for many, many years (as I could not get past the ugly stage). Which feels :cuss:ty against my old opponents.. But I was not the only one..

And as long as you do paint, are willing to learn and curious to improve. All is good! Now, I am the last person to give any advice though.

But what are those big guns in the last pic? I´m not up to date with "new" stuff.. lol

Those are Grav cannons iirc. Decent anti-vehicle weapons and semi-good against multi-wound infantry.

@Wolf Lord Duregar Those are Grav Cannons my friend. Pretty decent against vehicles. I can't remember when they were introduced. I think maybe 6th edition? Thank you for the positive feedback. I've only been painting since January this year so hopefully this time next year I'll be able to kick up another notch.

@Trysanna Thank you :)

@Brother Captain Arkly Huh, that's quite cheap.

Well, a few things i feel it can help anyone who get a Deredeo:

+Dont glue the knee pads before paint the thighs, the knee pads can be placed with gentle force and still placed in place. The same with the plate between legs and the heavy weapons under the chest.
+Paint under the chest before to. The same with the place where the head rest, if you paint the head glued, it can be really hard i guess.
+The lower legs are three pieces ( a large inner one must be glued inside the others ), and another  little piece to be glued in the small hole it left near the feet, put it whit tweezers to make it easy.
+The frontal part of the chest, are two separate pieces, this part need care, if not sand well, it will left a noticeable separation, this pin its placed where this two pieces are glued, take extra care to remove it.

Maybe this day i work on the guns, so i cant tell more things.

I hope this can help someone, even when sometimes my english its not the best. Any question i will answer if i can.

Thanks. :)

Ah that is no time at all! There are so many good YT-channels for painting advice, almost too much.. But just look a little, pick up some basic things and try. Helps alot. Never stop trying. Doesn´t matter how it looks, you will improve, everyone starts somewhere.

I´m pretty :cuss: but painting orks and orcs I can make them look alright, to my own standards. by using loads of browns, then washes and then some highlightning 8both dry brushing and edge highlights) but not on everything.

And it is also different painting something to play, soon. Than to paint a single character or something to just look good on the shelf..

But as long as you keep doing it, experiement and so on, you will just cntinue to improve. :)

Today in the hobby I went through my entire collection including my mountain of shame. I produced army plans, based around forces that fought in the Badab Wars; wanting to finish a goal I set when I bought the FW campaign books on release.

I sat down for a while, quite overwhelmed with my mountain of shame. Several dozen of pieces of A4 later and lots of ink, my plans are written up. Over an hour was spent looking up various guides on painting Badab forces and looking at inspiration for character conversions.

Will any of this be followed through? Only time will tell.

P.s. I spent the last 2 years or do out of the hobby loop, didn't follow any news etc

I'm liking some of the new HH stuff... but I can't believe the SM units gone. The Ironclad dreadnought was one of my favourite units! Just no.....
