The art of sisters

Too tired to read it trough yet but the palatine made me smile. "Kissa" means "cat" in finnish and is also used to describe women in the same way as "foxy" in english.

If Games Workshop modeled the plastic Sisters of Battle after Commander Shepard... I think I just may have a heart attack of sheer bubbly happiness.

I'm SanguiniusReborn, and this is my favourite idea on the B&C Forums.

Even her high heels make FIRE. Favorite piece of art of GW. So much grimdark and badassery in there.

Oooh, now that's a classic right there, I remember that from when I first got into Warhammer back when I was a wee lad...

Sister Neko?

Aah! That poor Sister has obviously been possessed by a Daemonette, just look at that unnatural skin tone, those animal-like ears and those souless eyes! Purge it at once!

I just looked through this whole thread, and did NOT see some of my favorite Sisters art of all time. Granted, there were a good number of busted links and they might have hidden in there at one time but...

Until last year I never knew who the artist was and was shocked to discover that Andrea Uderzo had been doing work for GW as far back as 2003. Two of the pieces of art I had seen before:

And two of them were pleasant discoveries:

Unfortunately, those were the largest sizes of the images that I could find. :sad.:

Where are those fanart pieces that look like they are inspired by the anime "Claymore"? They really show that sometimes anime and 40k can mix.

Also...I can't remember where but I saw a pic of a badly wounded grey knight and a sister of battle fighting off an unseen foe. Anybody know of it?

It's a beautiful piece, but the trajectory of the blood splatter bothers me. That angle would mean some dirty grot stuck a stubber out of a manhole & popped her on her lunch break... or she offed herself, neither one sits particularly well with me.

Seeing the bloody, gaping hole in her chest and the lack of the same thing in her head, I think she was in the middle of slidding down the wall when she was shot.

...something which I didn't notice before now, as my previous post proves.

Also, sisters of battle do off themselves in the lore, such as after being freed from brainwashing in one of the Ciaphas Cain novels (or so I read on this forum, at least). They also carry a hidden switchblade to commit suicide in case of capture, as per Faith and Fire. Okay, so Miriya uses it to climb up a hole BADASS STYLE instead of the intended purpose, but still.

Given the choice between slitthing their throats and getting sacrificed to the dark gods in order to summon daemons, I suspect sisters of battle will choose the former.

I quite like the Sister/Banshee one (aside from the fact that Banshees are my favourite Eldar unit). I always imagined Sisters to be faster than Marines in general (asides from heavy weapon Sisters) or at least more agile, so it'd be a good match up :smile.:

It is, it is. :smile.:

I want one for my garage, ehe.

I really like the stained glass window one, that's pretty cool.

Please check with a local copyshop how big they can print .PDFs. My local one told me they can blow up a .PDF to a yard wide giclee print. If anybody's can do that I will set it up as a .PDF.
