Same, have been in the process of looking and buying a house, have just moved in now. That didn't leave me with the time I wanted, I still have a ravenwing army on frames waiting to be put together.

 

But anyway...

I'm afraid I must amend my vow - I completely forgot that you can model Flakk Missiles but I had already set in my mind to have five Sniper Rifles... if we lose by 25 points, it will be on my head!!

Yes, those are gold parts instead of metal - my Boltgun Metal and Mithril SIlver dried up! This was the next best thing!

 

Also, Scouts are hard to paint! (Anyone have any personal tips for painting flesh for me..?)

Brave brothers and sisters, it’s time to remove your Oath of Moment for the moment has passed. It will soon be replaced with either the Custos Fidei or the dreaded Oath Breaker badge! Thank you all for participating - it's been a fantastic ride !

In the next couple of days I'll be compiling the data of the ETL II, cross-checking everything making sure there are no loose ends. During that time, you are welcome to post here anything that you feel requires my attention, be that an old completion that I did not explicitly acknowledge or anything else you may like to comment on. I will NOT accept any more completions though. None whatsoever!

Come this weekend, (most likely Saturday, August 19th) a full detailed report will be released and all the details of the ETL will be analyzed and be open for discussion. All participants will be awarded their badges and the faction to become ETL II Champion, the Primus Inter Pares, will be officially announced. So until then keep your breath for who know what really happened?

[Part I]

Captain Semper sat silent on the command throne of in the bridge of the Consecrators Destroyer "The Lion's Wrath". The bridge was active but the noise level was nevertheless subdued...

- Master... The voice of a 10th Company Sergeant disturbed the silence. The Master of Recruits made a nod allowing the Sergeant to speak.

- We just received a coded message from a Black Templar Reclusiarch sir.. it is difficult to decifer, it does not abide to standard Imperial codes...

- Which Reclusiarch is that Sergeant?

- Brother Darklight sir.

- I see.. and what does this message say sergeant? The code that's so hard to crack?

- Well the message says simply: "Prepare the white protocols. Be there to collect them in 7 standard days - Brother Darklight"

- I see... thank you sergeant.

As the Sergeant bowed and departed he missed a rare occurance - something that he might have noticed if it was not for the winged helmet of Master of Recruits. Captain Semper was smiling...


[Part II]

The Black Templar Reclusiarch stood in the Thunderhawk's troop bay alone as it started its landing rites. He stood in silence. He knew of his failures and now he must stand and face the ones responsible for his undoing.

The Dark Angels.

This was not Darklight's first involvement with the Sons of the Lion. He knew their ways. Well, knew enough that they were a secretive lot. 'Probably some silly reason for that', he often said to himself, but he would always then think 'No. They are Astartes. Their reasons are well enough their own'.

The Thunderhawk door opened as it neared the ground. A lone warrior stood before him, wearing green ceramite with a bone-white robe covering his torso and legs. "Good morning, cousin!" he voxed. Darklight could not see the warriors face behind that helmet, but he could tell from this overly cheery demeanor that this particular Angel most likely knew what the packaged dataslate in his hand contained.

"That's 'Reclusiarch'," Darklight corrected, though he figured this would simply spur the Angel's highly amused attitude.

"My apologies." The Dark Angel bowed his head. His tone said it all. He wasn't sorry. The smug bas--

*THUD* The Thunderhawk hit the ground.

"I take it, by your apparent amusement, that you know what it is that you carry?" Darklight stepped down the boarding ramp towards the Green-clad warrior.

"Of course, Reclusiarch." The marine reached out and offered the package to the knight. "Captain Semper briefed me in full about your little gamble. The White-protocols, as you...uh... 'requested'."

The Knight ignored this quip as he was handed the package. "I'm genuinely surprised. I'd have imagined your chapter would not hand over this sort of thing. What happened to the top-secret nature of how you do business?"

"Even we make exceptions, like watching a Black Templar squirm, for example. The Master of Recruits sees no reason to keep this under wraps"

Darklight laughed. Not that he found the situation humourous, but because he knew this would simply add to his humiliation. "Of course he doesn't."

"He apologizes that he couldn't deliver this himself. He's a busy man, wrapping up the final details of the Crusade and such."

"Yes, I'm sure. Is that all, Sergeant? I have somewhere to be."

"Yes, Reclusiarch."

Darklight began to walk back up the ramp.

"Oh, I almost forgot" Darklight stopped, but didn't bother to turn more than his head. "The Captain has one last message for you."

"What?"

"We hope you'll have made good use of that by weeks end. He think's you'll look good in Bone-white"

Darklight said nothing. He only slammed his fist into the side of the Thunderhawk's troop bay as it began to take flight once more.


The criteria was met back in July. In the next few days, the DA subforum will get the pleasure of viewing my WiP thread for my penance vow:

If the initial issuers of this challenge, the Dark Angels, have a combined Points Completed higher than that of the previous champions of the E Tenebrae Lux challenge, The Black Templars, by July 15 (10:00pm EST) Then as an act of penance, I Brother Darklight, shall complete...

You actually wanted to start a nice DA force but didn't want to be blamed by your brethen so your organized this "vow" to looks "forced" to do so...

 

I think we should consider this guy for organizing our fallen hunt...

Well,

 

Personally I feel really good about my contribution.  I accomplished the same number of ports I wanted to originally do, but didn't quite do the original model plan.  I moved away from models that had a large amount of work for a small amount of points.  I've previously laid out the numbers for the overall contribution, but the model count was good in my mind.  

 

I've got other things planned and have been continuing to paint furiously, with my sights set on 40 Deathwing Knights the work load is not going to be lessened any time soon.  

 

I'm praying for the best, brothers, and I'm looking forward to the next event.

thanks.gif Captain Semper, for running the event, for all your help/advice and for just generally being a nice guy smile.png the hours spent on this must have been huge.

Thank your servitors after they compile all the data as well! This was a fantastic event.

Thanks also to Shadowguard for doing the banners, they do look great.

Much appreciation goes to all the Dark Angel brothers too, and hey you should thank yourselves really, as right now you guys have got some awesome armies/figures to play with, everyone should feel proud.


Oh and I'm still trying to figure out where those doors are from, the ETL closed doors, I've seen them somewhere before I'm sure, they look really... solid!
