Thanks, I was happy the bits fit together so well, even if it will still require a bit of sculpting. The biggest thing is that the ruststalker legs seem to be the right length or only slightly too long.

It's funny, because that picture way predates my fall to chaos, but I think you are absolutely right that it is the sort of thing I am aiming for. I always felt that all chaos soldier would likely be vastly different from the ones next to them. It is really a faction about personal choice (and how choice in the 40 universe almost always leads to obsession and damnation). From a modelling perspective, I love incorporating all sorts of mutations and conversions into the models to really make them look different from stock, and from each other. (It also helps that my hobby adhd can be contained within a single faction that way).

We are made of more than iron. Within our veins runs blood and fuel and oil. Blood for flesh, and fuel and oil for metal. But in truth, they are the same. They both keep us moving, our engines purring or hissing as needs dictate. And we spill both for he who sits the throne of iron and bone. And the more that is spilt, the more his holy servants flock to our world:

On the negative side, I don't think I will be done in time for Iron Without with these bloodletters. On the other hand, I feel like they are really coming along spectacularly.

Here is the completed IC vow for Iron Without:

So, I've finished up the last little modelling bits and primed the first 5 of my Iron Warriors bloodletters.

I think I will be going with yellow skin and black raised portions, but I will need to see how that looks. The cybernetics will be leadbelcher of course.

Still am looking for a challenger to pit these against in the Augst Arena II first segment though.

So, I have a couple things I am working on right now. The first of course is that I have officially challenged Marvin_the_Martian in the first round of Auggie's Arena.

The second, is an old school metal talos I am working on reviving. I got some oyumaru and some pin vice drills (one bit broke, but was still usable, thankfully) to get it back in fighting shape. Some spikes had been lost over the years. I am pretty happy with the results, and have included pictures below. As a warning to anyone jumping out to get some, I accidentally left the mold overnight with the last cloned bit inside and it was in direct sunlight this morning and began to melt and lose definition. Thankfully, the bit had already set, but it's a good thing I didn't need to make any more!

Do you think that I need to do any gap filling on this kit with putty to make it look good, or is it ready to prime?

Some raider's I am working on.

Also, while the oyumaru is working great, I am finding that my procreate is drying gummy/rubbery. In other words, it cures to the stiffness of rubber, completely flexible, and that isn't great for all the things I would like to do with it. Would mixing in milliput be better for such purposes? Or should I use sculpy? ;)

I've decided to do some gap filling on the talos (and it also needed some repairs, as I don't have a sharp and thin enough bit to pin the broken blade/fins on that I replaced with putty, so I will likely just have to live with gluing them back on from time to time). In any case, I'm not up for the gsing work right now, so here is some other stuff I've been doing:

And further work on the yellow and then start on metal.

Do you think I should use bone for the skulls, iron, a mix? On the one hand, some seem kind of weird as metal, although coating them in metal or these being daemons could explain that. On the other hand, I am trying to avoid using the typical brass/bone/red paint scheme on these, but still have them read as bloodletters.

Thoughts?

So, I need advice on what bases to use for my khorne Iron Warriors.

Sand? varying colour options available?

Old school green flock?

Ship interior?

Industrial Wasteland?

Urban warfare?

Rubble?

How about a mixture of industrial wasteland, urban warfare and rubble. You could mix and match the theme. Could be a besieged forgeworld they are attacking. I would try to fit it in with my other miniatures. You could even do destroyed metal plates like in a ship for ruined factories or smthn. But for all that's good and khorny, don't use old school green flock, that's an abomination in the face of chaos, the emperor, the eldar gods, the c'tan and even gork and mork.
